Re: The Official Metal Gear Solid 5 Thread
don't open this until you finish that mission RG, ES did you also think
- Spoiler:
- it was completely redundant having to play through the entire intro mission again, it's like 30 minutes long and nothing new happens until the final cutscene, kinda pissed me off tbh , plus it's not like we weren't basically aware something like that was the twist at that point, I put it together after the Volgin cutscene where you recover his body..although I swear you spoiled the ending for me a day or so after release, I clicked a random spoiler tag from you that said something like can't believe we're playing as a clone of big boss

That Last side ops mission.....
- Spoiler:
top 3 mission in the game. Easily.
Got goosebumps during the end credit scene.
Fantastic end to that arc. Also ties up nicely why Quiet was never spoken of again in future MGS games.
that song

best 'ending' in the game IMO
- Spoiler:
- now you see why I said you should have saved that for last though, you can't use her during any of the extreme missions now

Re: The Official Metal Gear Solid 5 Thread
don't recall you mentioning it again but did you do all of the capture the wandering motherbase soldiers missions and resolve the storyline?

you didn't get the cutscene? go to the room but before going in look on the wall outside of the door, should be something you can interact with

Kinda hated using her in total stealth/extreme missions since she made them easier.
So it's fine imo

Re: The Official Metal Gear Solid 5 Thread
have fun playing through some of them 50 times then trying to get the trophies
I admit though the first time I completed a total stealth mission (didn't use her because I thought it would put enemies on alert and end the mission) it was a GOAT feeling

Re: The Official Metal Gear Solid 5 Thread
That's the true MGS feeling brah.
Hardcore fans( A LOT ) of them just take a pistol into missions
btw there was nothing to interact with in the medical platform. Outside of you know who's room right?

heard there's a path you can take that basically avoids them altogether, can't even remember how I took em out the first time, think I just hid and left it to quiet

Re: The Official Metal Gear Solid 5 Thread
First time was easy since it wasn't one shot kill. Took them all in 5 minutes
Now it's impossible since you have 4 laser sights on you at once and then later on there are no laser sights at all

- I'm sorry firenze, i really didn't mean to. Was just awestruck and stuff and needed to vent, it wasn't my intention to spoil
On the last mission, yeah it was redundant but i trudged through it anyhow, felt like it could've been better if we took control of the real BB

- tbf I forgot about it anyway or just assumed it was supposed to be common knowledge so I wasn't rustled
unfortunate that you got spoiled so early on though
playing as Big Boss during that mission would have made it better for sure, even if it's essentially the same mission

Re: The Official Metal Gear Solid 5 Thread
Just beat sahelanthropus on extreme after 1000th attempts.
Finally on to the last mission.
pray for me lads
whatever happens. I want you all to know this game was a solid 9.5/10 so far. I hope ending doesn't bring it to 5.4.
but so far. It was as perfect as i was hoping.

Re: The Official Metal Gear Solid 5 Thread
No just finished it.
I want to say a lot, but really tired so will make a detailed post about the ending tomorrow. Quite stunned at the revelation tbh
For now. Kojima played us like a damn fiddle.
I didn't think the game felt unfinished in terms of Big Boss' side of story. A lot of it ties up nicely to Metal Gear 1 and so on. Some mind blowing stuff which only Kojima could have thought of. The whole ending was pure genius.
I do think another chapter would have been a good thing. And we would have 100% gotten it if it wasn't for Konami pushing for a deadline and in the end they had to replay few missions.
For now. GOAT game. Still shocked at the ending and will take time to fit other remaining pieces in my head.
But IMO I didn't think it was anywhere near a bad ending.
In terms of gameplay, this is the best game I've ever played in my life. No exception.
In terms of MGS. you were right, it's no 1 in terms of gameplay, but MGS4, MGS3 and MGS1 had better stories.

Re: The Official Metal Gear Solid 5 Thread
think he said he's in his late 50s
yeah I mentioned before it's all good if you've played the others since it brings Big Boss personal story full circle but as an actual game it feels unfinished, needed the Liquid stuff resolved since the entirety of chapter 2 seems to build up to that but it's just dropped entirely in favor of the plot-twist ending. Kojima and Konami take equal blame IMO.
make sure you watch the cut ending scenes that were on the collectors edition RG, would have been GOAT
