Re: Bendtner in Italy for Juventus
Even if Bendtner is on Matris level I thought the whole transfer issue in the first place is how Matri isn't good enough for us to begin with.
Pointless signing. But like I said I hope he proves me wrong and scores a bucket load.
I don't support his signing but he's one of ours now so until he flops he has my backing and support.

I just read a danish paper that Bendtner is not in good form atm, as he has had no pre season etc. So you get a fat Bendtner also. Maybe he will be playing just as much as Elia

That is the exact comparison I was making in my head
Maybe he'll be an Elia like transfer, so no one will really care in the end
But then you have to consider that he is coming into a position that desperately needs something, so maybe he'll get more of a shot than Elia did

Re: Bendtner in Italy for Juventus
there were so many good/better strikers we could have done a deal for over Bendtner
- Seydou Doumbia
- Papiss Cisse
- Damaiao
to mention a few, I told Devi about how Bilbao will mellow on transfer deadline when they realize no team is willing to pay their 35m asking price for Llorente...... there you have it, I hear Spurs are close to an agreement and I bet it will be in the region of between 16m-19m....
so much for Mr. Marotta the easy quitter, in the region of a quality CF we must all agree he always fails...
we must understand that the days of del Piero/Zidane/Nedved/Cantonna etc etc. deals are long gone, football has changed much, u cannot have quality if you are unwilling to spend much, at least until FFP starts [which I dunno if it even will]

Re: Bendtner in Italy for Juventus

Not true elm, I was with you up until this line
Lets see:
Pirlo, free
Vidal, 10-12M
Barzagli 500k
Outside of Juventus:
Cassano
Cisse to Newcastle
Cabaye to Newcastle
Ozil to Real
Like these are just off the top of my head and obviously more could be added but you get the idea.
The point is, Marotta's fault was not his inability to spend (that's not the MAIN problem). The problem is he was far too patient, he sat on the most important transfer until too closely to the deadline.
Players like Isla and Asamoah should have been signed after a striker was signed, not prior.
The whole idea last season was Juventus needed to make a number of signings to improve the overall quality of the team, they did that.
This season, the team was supposed to be 90% complete, and champions league money was supposed to be used on 2-3 players of absolute class. You could count Isla, Asamoah and Giovinco but obviously the team was missing that one piece, and now it is a scramble.
I'm still fairly satisfied with the market, I think apart from Inter, Juventus have had the best market in Italy (which isn't that big of an accomplishment) Marotta has done well, just not great. If he managed to land a Jovetic or Llorente I would be over the moon, but if his strategy was not to get into the immense spending habits of other clubs, like spending absurd amounts on a single player than I do applaud him for that. Although he does spend a lot for Juventus, he does it on a large scale

Re: Bendtner in Italy for Juventus
It's a loan with a 5 million option to buy. Guys, that's so low risk. I think people are making a lot out of very little. This is no different than the Esti deal. If it works and Conte can develop him, that's great. If not, it didn't cost us much. There wasn't some other great CF that was going to join us instead of Bendtner. Marotta wasn't targeting him all summer. It was a last ditch emergency plan that isn't costing us much. Let's just see how he fits in and not complain so much.

Based on his picture from juventus.com, it looks like he and Pepe can trade stories about good turtlenecks.

Re: Bendtner in Italy for Juventus
fark, if it was only Bendtner, I would have given the attacking role to Immobile, since risk wise, Ciro is a risk free option, we own him and he will have a chance to develop.....
farkn Bendtner, at least if we had to go to Arsenal and we wanted a striker with physical presence, I would have been happy with Marouane Chamakh tbh,
smh....

Immobile has a much better chance to play and develop at Genoa. I know that everyone thinks he is great, but he still needs time to develop and there was no guarantee that he would move ahead of Matri or Quags. He is guaranteed to be a top striker at Genoa and will see the pitch more often. A good season in Serie B and one goal so far at Genoa, does not make him an immediate star. We shouldn't rush the development of our players. Sometimes, that can ruin a player for the rest of his career.
