Jamie Sanderson @YoungGunsBlog: Good to hear from @MattLittlechild that Santi Cazorla at Emirates tonight watching U21's. Has bought into club values. Top man.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Hey guys,
I've got a quick question. If you join as a red member with the club, is there much chance of getting leftover tickets from silver members for the Category A matches? Is there a certain amount allocated to red members? I'm trying to get tickets for Arsenal v Chelsea or Arsenal v Spuds and flights from Ireland are very cheap those particular weekends. Thanks!

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Getting leftover tickets from those matches is very hard. They get booked months ago. However many people don't manage to go and sell their tickets. You just have to know how to get them. However After games have sold out there are sometimes tickets put up for sale later on in something called ticket exchange. This is where season ticket holders can't attend and rather than the tickets be sold through ticket touts they are sold on to arsenal members with AFC taking a small admin charge from the vendor
But it's nearly impossible to get tickets for high profile games if u are a red member.

Talking of pundits, I don't bother to watch or listen to pundits here in SA. They all seem to know F#ck all bout Arsenal. They're talking of Wenger getting the sack and blah, blah

Yeah man.. One idiot predicts doom and then everyone does the same, like a parrot. So irritating!
Gary Neville actually has gained a bit of my respect in this regard. He is sensible and unbiased, very surprisingly.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Mertesacker - Podolski will switch on quickly
Per Mertesacker insists Arsenal fans will soon see the best of Lukas Podolski.
The Germany international striker made his competitive debut for the Club in Saturday’s goalless draw against Sunderland at Emirates Stadium.
But although Podolski did not add to his pre-season brace against Cologne, his compatriot Mertesacker believes the forward is only just getting started.
“It was tough for him [on Saturday] because it was his first game up front,” Mertesacker told Arsenal Player. “I think he will get used to the game, switch on quickly and score a lot for us.
“You have seen that he has a good technique and he is good in possession. We have the players who can pass him the ball. He is a good finisher too and we will see that in a couple of weeks.
“We saw a lot of misunderstandings [against Sunderland], especially in the first half. One guy maybe wanted the one-two, the other in behind. So we need a bit of time, especially with the new players. We had a few new players who were playing their first game over 90 minutes. But I think it is coming.”
Mertesacker made his first competitive appearance since suffering an ankle injury that kept him out of action for three months in last season’s reverse fixture at the Stadium of Light.
“It was a bit weird [being back] but the pitch was much better than Sunderland away!” he said. “I felt very comfortable so now I just have to go on.
“I did not feel any pain, my ankle is fine and I am looking forward to the next game and the season. It is very important for us to start well and be aware at Stoke.”

Its a sign of good team spirit when a player sticks up for another positively. I know Per is trying to make Poldi comfortable and helping him settle and having compatriots in the team helps. But it is still worth appreciating, albeit a relatively small gesture.
Also, massive lols at that jab on the Sunderland pitch!

Great for Ox, even though I'm a bit surprised he got to be on the cover.

I think this deserves it's own thread, but I'll post it here for now. Gingers4Limpar writes about our midfield, how the roles and tactics of midfields have changed and whether we really need a defensive midfielder or not:

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Also from the Sun:
Since winning the 2005 FA Cup, Arsenal have gone trophyless as they offloaded 17 top players, who won 44 major medals with 11 different clubs.
Thierry Henry, Cesc Fabregas, Samir Nasri, RVP and Song are some names who left for glory.
Arsenal raked in £163m for those who left, without the £39m they will get for RVP and Song.
In our research, we have not included the Community Shield or national Super Cups.
Ironically, players won medals with PORTSMOUTH (1 FA Cup for Sol Campbell and Lassana Diarra) and BIRMINGHAM (1 Carling Cup for Seb Larsson and Alex Hleb).
