Dzeko is Juventus’ top player
Manchester City’s Edin Dzeko has risen to the top of Juventus’ transfer wish-list as their search for a striker continues.
The Old Lady have spent all summer looking for a ‘top player’ in attack after seeing numerous targets disappear from their grasp.
Arsenal’s Robin Van Persie joined Manchester United, while Fiorentina’s €30m asking price for Stevan Jovetic was considered as too steep.
Atheltic Bilbao ace Fernando Llorente has been associated in recent weeks, but his club’s €36m valuation is also beyond La Signora’s reach.
According to the Corriere dello Sport, Dzeko – who was targeted by Juve before he joined City in January 2011 – is again on their radar.
Director general Beppe Marotta is said to be ready to offer €20m for the Bosnian who could be tempted by regular first team football in Turin.
Talks are apparently underway with his agent and City. Only should the Dzeko deal collapse will the champions make a fresh bid for Llorente.

We are going to have a tense end of the market in the next week. I get the feeling that Juve won't close a deal until the final day in the window.

I hate our wishlist, it changes every week and we've yet to get a striker from it

I wouldn't put too much weight into all of these articles. No one really knows what is happening between the clubs. Juve is probably waiting to see what Man City is going to do and if that will free up Dzeko. Once Juve, Man City, and other big clubs make a move, the market will be put into action and a lot of last minute deals will happen. It's going to take some patience.

Aguero's injury along with City playing in the Champions League might make it harder.

Aguero and Dzeko are different types of strikers. One is a SS and the other is a CF. So, Aguero's injury does not have a direct effect on Dzeko, but it may have some effect depending on Mancini's tactics. Also, Aguero is only expected to miss a month, which from the time of the injury, would have him back playing in mid-September.
In the end, the only way Dzeko moves is if City makes another CF signing. I don't see City cutting their depth down to less than 4 quality strikers. That's the real factor, not Aguero's injury. City can survive without him for a few weeks.

Re: Dzeko is Juventus’ top player
the last 24-48hours of the transfer window has always been the key few days. That will never change.
Hang on to your seats on 30-31st - thats when the real business will hapen. Until then, its all rumour Bull$hit to inflate prices, wages, destabilise and demoralise opponents. Classic transfer market tactics.

Though they are different from each other, Aguero was mostly deployed as a no 9. In their 4-2-3-1 formation balotelli would play on the left while Aguero played as a no 9. Even when Tevez returned during the title run in. It was Tevez who had a free role in the team. So Dzeko is seen as a direct replacement for Aguero at City.
