How'd he play today? From what i've read he was quite solid, he's put in a few good shifts recently. I can see him nailing down the RB spot within the next season.

That's awesome, he's looking to be a great buy, could hold down the RB spot for years to come.

One thing I love about him is how he doesn't let wingers make their crosses. It ALWAYS ticks me off when Ivanovic just sags off on the wingers and let them make their crosses. Dave blocks everything :bow:

And is also particularly good at dropping to the centre of the box and helping out the CBs on timely occasions :bow:

Well, when Azpi first joined, there was alot made of how long his last name is and how difficult it was to pronounce for some people. The trend itself was started, I believe, by Gigi Salmon, who mentioned on FNL the week he joined that a few fans told her on twitter they were just gonna save themselves the trouble and just call him "Dave". And that's where/when it started to pick up from Laughing

Glad to see Azpi is finally getting more and more time as placing Ivanovic at RB was a crime to the Basque youngster. Whatever is felt here I still believe that Ivanovic is a superior CB than he is a fullback. His movement and reading just suits being inside the box. Azpi will need little time to develop since he already is a proven player with a title winning Marseille plus his world class performances in the Champions League with them (marked out Ribery twice in a row). I also hope Rafa knows that Azpi is capable of playing both flanks as he displayed for Marseille numerous time.

Along with Santon, Azpi is simply one of two of the best U-23 fullbacks in the PL.

And in Euskera is pronounced: AS(T)H-PEE-LEH-CU-WHEY-THA
