Re: Summer Transfer Rumour Thread Pt. 8
Well I'm trolling Madrid in this case.
I'm going to be honest when I say that although I love Modric and don't...enjoy...Cesc, Cesc is the far more talented player and the fact that Modric is going for 13m euros more than Cesc is hilarious.
It's an even worse deal than us getting Cesc. Which was an awful deal I was against from the start.

Well there's bargains, a normal fee and overpriced players. Modric was in the normal fee region imo. Fabregas was a bargain. Carroll being overpriced.

Spurs to be rejected and rebuffed by every target in the coming days and forced into a Carroll-esque transfer.

Re: Summer Transfer Rumour Thread Pt. 8
IF anything its only awful deal for Spurs. What exact damage its gone do for Madrid by paying a few more millions for Modric. Its not like its stopping them from signing any other players due to lack of funds.Even if he is a rotation player for Madrid (which i dont think will be the case) it will only demonstrate how strong their squad is not how bad this deal this.
Whereas for Spurs they have lost the player around who their team is build. And they dont have the ability to attract anyone of similar quality either. And they by hangling for a couple of million Levy made sure AVB didnt have the chance the to replace the player who was the heart of the team much earlier and and trying to replace him with 3 days to go in the window.
I cant understand how spurs fans could laugh at Madrid in this deal. Its like when some Liverpool fans were over the moon when we got 30 mil for Alonso.

Depends how Spurs replace him, if they get genuine quality across the team in then it's a good deal.
If not and they end up going backwards like Liverpool did when they sold Alonso then it's a bad move.
Time will tell.

Re: Summer Transfer Rumour Thread Pt. 8
Kaka:
Milan are interested in signing the attacking midfielder, but they only want to take him on loan with option.
“The situation with regards to Kaka is clear. Real Madrid want to sell him on a permanent basis, we want to take him on loan.
If Real Madrid change their minds then I’ll fly straight to Spain, otherwise we can’t do anything about it,” Milan vice President and chief executive Galliani said before Milan’s 0-1 defeat to Samp.
And it doesn’t seem like Real Madrid have changed their minds. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport and Sky Sport Italia, Los Blancos still refuse to let Kaka go on loan because of taxation issues and negotiations are frozen out at the moment.
In fact, it’s reported that Galliani told FIFA agent Ernesto Bronzetti to cancel his trip to Madrid; he had a meeting planned with Real’s Florentino Perez for Kaka.
Galliani, who is currently in France for M’Baye Niang, was expected to fly to Spain on Wednesday, but if Real Madrid won’t change their minds, Kaka (and Lassana Diarra according to reports) won’t be joining Milan.
Sky Italia reported earlier however, that Galliani had promised Allegri new players after the loss (to Sampdoria).

Michael Owen is hoping to find a new club before Friday's deadline, and is keen to stay in the Premier League, but it appears Norwich City will not be his destination after Canaries boss Chris Hughton dismissed speculation he is planning an offer for the striker.

Lloris-Spurs:
"The sale of Modric from Tottenham to Madrid is important, as is the amount of the transfer," said Aulas at a press conference.
"It's true that on Sunday we had a lot of contact with Daniel Levy. Things progressed during these talks, both qualitatively and quantitatively, but nothing's concrete yet.
"I've informed Hugo of these discussions. We'll have to be a bit patient to find out.
"The decision belongs to Hugo who, I think, will be approached by Tottenham very soon. The clubs' positions have moved closer together."
A deal for Lloris would add a more youthful look to Spurs' goalkeeping department, with Andre Villas-Boas currently able to choose from 41-year-old Brad Friedel and thirty-somethings Carlo Cudicini and Heurelho Gomes.

Hopefully juve get him. They need a striker because I don't want to see Matri or vucinic as their attackers. I would love for juve to get jovetic!

M'Bia:
Marseille manager Elie Baup is of the belief that Stephane M’Bia could be on the move to the Premier League this week.
The 26-year old Cameroon midfielder has already been linked with QPR this summer and although a club has not been mentioned, Baup suggests that he will be leaving the Stade Velodrome prior to the end of August with England the likely destination.
"Things could progress during the week for M'Bia,” Baup told RMC. "It's clear for me and for him: he's shown his desire to leave.
"He is still available all the same because he had a good game at Montpellier. As long as he's here, he needs to do his best.
"But we need to find the best solution for the club."
-----------------
Porto media chief Ahaz Fellegger told Record: "Everything will be decided before the 31st. Hulk has told his agent, Teodoro Fonseca, he wants everything cleared up between Tuesday and Wednesday.
"So that's what we want to see happen."
-------------
Dutch sources say Arsenal are working furiously on a deal this week to land Afellay before Friday's transfer deadline.
Rob Jansen, Afellay's agent, has spoken with the Gunners, though Barca will have to drop their £6 million asking price for the deal to happen.

Looks like Michael Rensing to Bayer Leverkusen is practically a done deal: http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/bundesliga/startseite/573967/artikel_alles-klar_rensing-wird-nummer-zwei-hinter-leno.html
Good news for him - I wouldn't have liked to see him out of work again after Köln decided to get rid of him after he was practically the only one next to Poldi who worked to save the club from relegation.

Re: Summer Transfer Rumour Thread Pt. 8
René Adler is the Nr.1 of the HSV as of this season. Bernd Leno is the Nr.1 of Bayer, but he is prone to rash actions and the Leverkusen board didn't feel comfortable with David Yelldell as Nr.2. As Michael Rensing was out of favour with the 1.FC Köln (they named Timo Horn as their Nr.1), Rensing was practically a free agent.Robbery wrote:rwo power wrote:Looks like Michael Rensing to Bayer Leverkusen is practically a done deal: http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/bundesliga/startseite/573967/artikel_alles-klar_rensing-wird-nummer-zwei-hinter-leno.html

Spanish football correspondent Tim Stannard says that Esteban Granero could be Spurs bound following the north London club's link up with Real Madrid
----------
Tottenham Hotspur have denied that their "partnership agreement" with Real Madrid means the Spanish club have first refusal on their star players.
A Spurs source has told ESPN: "Speculation, that's all it is. All the talk about Bale and Real is speculation. Spurs' partnership with Real Madrid does not cover this sort of thing."

According to The Telegraph, Tottenham have made offers/enquiries for Hugo Lloris, Yann M'Vila, Moussa Dembele, Alan Dzagoev and Willian. They're apparently quite close to Lloris (down to the player, supposedly), have made an official bid for M'Vila, are negotiating for Willian and have interest in Dembele.
Could be a rather spectacular week if you're a Spurs fan.
