Hopefully not, he might think it means something.

Not much of a future at Barca, no? The template is clear. 2 right-footed and 2 left-footed CBs. Can't see too many games where we'll see Bartra starting alongside Pique with both Mathieu and Vermaelen sitting on the bench. Neither do I see Pique getting dropped. And then there is Mascherano who is trusted by the coaching staff and who needs game time with his new contract. Which he won't be getting too often ahead of Busquets in midfield. Barca also evidently wanted to sign a € 40M+ 20 year old whose profile would heavily clash with 23 year old Bartra considering that Pique has some 5+ more years in him and is undroppable.

Saying this in the light of the reported lineups for tomorrow with Mascherano starting.

It would make no sense to me if he doesnt at least get the chance.

If Pique is crap, then I see no reason why he cant be dropped.

Likewise, while I prefer a left footed centerback...I prefer more CB's who are good. So if Verm or Mathieu arent good, then the same.

Basically, its a wait and see thing from my point of view.

What the actual situation is, I dont know.

smh Wrote a long post and then it says "pls log in" after clicking the "send" button. Mad

Short version then:

I don't see Bartra as a special talent. Okay but not special. Homegrown, knows the club, gives his all. With experience and in the right setup it could work out for him for sure. Basically he can become Pique 2.0, that's about his ceiling IMO. Now here is the problem. Replacing Pique with Bartra doesn't do anything and playing them together is not optimal. Ideally you'd pair both with physical 1-vs-1 specialists like Puyol, Vidic etc. while they do the sweeping up.

Regarding your punishment I'm waiting for the Atletico game. Proud Proud Proud

Tearing it up in Bundesliga, fantastic assist yesterday:

https://vid.me/GKa1

A pity he got injured 2 minutes later, but he is an undisputable starter at Dortmund and now that he is regaining his confidence, he will prove his worth.

Much better CB than Mascherano.

You mean I should blame Lucho for Mascherano's poor form, or for not trusting Bartra?

If it's the second, Tata, and Tito should be blamed too sadly. I really can't understand how people doesn't see that Bartra has great quality...

"Much better CB than Mascherano" Laughing

How could this scrub who has played 15 games since his promotion better than a world-class footballer who won 2 CLs as a starter and has been your most consistent CB for 6 years ?

Mascherano has been our weak link for a long time, don't know what are you on. And currently, he is in awful form and showing his age.

Also, no player that is an undisputable starter for this Dortmund is a scrub, that should be obvious. They are a very good team.

mascherano has made the transition on life after puyol good, something a scrub like bartra or whoever else hasn't accomplished yet.
his only downsides is his height and sometimes his bad passing
where as bartra... Laughing his mistakes were all over the place and his acouple months away from being 26 no longer a kid either.

still glad bartra left though, we got a much superior player in umtiti who is better in so many different ways and is also younger, fits the system like a glove.

Bartra stupid mistakes are 1/10 of those Mascheranos has done with Barça. You can keep saying nonense on the face of evidence, now that he can prove himself he is showing and will show he is class, and obviously better than Umtiti (as of now, Umtiti can be better because he is young).

People who think Dortmund's starters are scrubs. Laughing

But he also played 1/100 of Mascherano's matches. Comparing this fraud Bartra to a proven world-class footballer like Mascherano is an insult for the former Albiceleste captain.

I meant 1/10 in proportion to what they have played. Mascherano error's are countless. He was never very good as a CB, now he is clearly the weak link. A great player, with great attitude, never suited to the role of CB.

Mascherano is awful for a while now. Decline is a thing

Bartra is decent. Haven't seen him at dortmund yet but he's surely doing better than declining Javier
