Foreign players > British players?
I personally think foreign players, e.g. from Spain, Italy, Germany etc are more intelligent and technically better than British players. They just have that extra level of intelligence.
So why do clubs even buy overpriced British players when they can get a cheaper and better alternative?

Re: Foreign players > British players?
whos buying british players besides the british?
but to reply honestly i dont think foreign players are fundamentally more intelligent as you seem to imply, maybe it seems that way because there foreign players far outnumber british players in the large scale or perhaps its a style issue. but to say they are born any different is kinda biast tbh.
its all about youth training and individual differences.

Re: Foreign players > British players?
Of course Foreign players are better than british because your comparing 1 or 2 countries to the rest of the world
Like being on a Spanish forum and sayin Foreign > Spanish.
Of course you will find some countries with better players than the Spanish

Re: Foreign players > British players?
The fact that foreign players and better than British players is a no brainer. There's a reason the Premier League are packed full of them.
However, British players tend to be more loyal to their clubs and they, naturally, understand the English game better. The settling-in period for these players are much shorter and the majority come ready made for the pace and physicality of the league.
Moreover, the fact that the majority of them are reluctant to travel abroad for whatever reason means clubs don't have to worry about foreign interest as much.
A foreign player might be cheaper and technically superior, but you can't guarantee the same loyalty, nor can you guarantee they will adapt to the league.
Successful teams are successful because they blend the technical excellence of foreign players and the loyalty and passion of British player.

yeah, no... what high level british player had a chance to leave for a better club and chose not to? the top 5-6 clubs are hoarding all the talent they're interested in, the rest stay at their clubs because they're shit and noone wants them... i mean who's really considered loyal by these standards, agbonlahor? shawcross?

christ, this again... please do list these foreigners who failed to adapt to the league in comparison to high profile transfers of british players... i'm really curious because players like modric, koscielny, silva, mata, yaya, aguero, etc etc had absolutely no problems adapting to the glorious premier league... only players i can think of who actually failed to adapt were shit in the first place, e.g. squillaci
