Honestly it can't be on lukaku, the whole Belgium team were playing like the game was a friendly, with very slow pace. They were giving Russia too much space, and were quite literally very boring to watch until the last half hr. That being said, lukaku couldn't make any sort of impact, he fails to get into good positions.

I'm seriously beginning to dislike this guy, if the price tag is £40M I'll be happy to pack his bags.

Lukaku dropped for tonight's R16 game against US for 19-year-old Divock Origi. Snigger.

Well deserved, but to be honest I really don't think he will learn his lesson.

Congrats to the physically superior Heskey for coming on after missing the game before fresh as a daisy at extra time vs defenders who were completely broken.

He is the Belgian Heskey who is well superior to most footballers physically and he made that tell, props to him.

However he won't get that medal from me which he will no doubt think he deserves after his performance tonight.

He made the difference and deserves credit for that, but let's not act like it was some brilliant critic-quashing feat. He came on after 90 minutes going into ET, and against a, let's face it, pretty limited side who had just been defending for much of the match. That that's the highlight of his tournament so far is far more telling of his performance in it up to this point than anything he did today.

Belgian Heskey is an insult, tbh. Lukaku is a fantastic player and if he could just improve his technique, he'd be top class.

To put it bluntly your football knowledge isn't the best so let's not go there. If you can't watch a game and think that Origi this game for 90 minutes, had significantly more impact than Lukaku over the first 2 games. Generally played well then I really can't be arsed talking to you and your bias views.

If Gervinho could improve his decision making skills he would be top class, if Ramires could improve his technique he would be world class. Blah blah blah, we all know what Lukaku is about so let's not kid ourselves. He's got a lot of potential but if you can't admit his physicality is his main asset I don't know what to say, he is far from a fantastic player.
