Roma looking to sign Chelsea's Romelu Lukaku on Thibaut Courtois-style loan this summer:
Roma will ask Chelsea to take Romelu Lukaku, currently on a year-long deal with Everton, on loan next term, and believe their qualification to next season's Champions League will entice both the player and Chelsea

Re: The Fridge Full of Cash - Romelu Lukaku
And what exactly is the difference between a normal loan and a Courtois style loan?

Re: The Fridge Full of Cash - Romelu Lukaku
I was wondering that too
Maybe the fact that it's to a Champions League club to get CL experience?

Re: The Fridge Full of Cash - Romelu Lukaku
Same. I love his apparent passion as a Chelsea supporter (that video of his first visit to SB being quite touching) and huge admirer of Drogba of course, but there's always been something about him that hasn't sat right with me. Runs his mouth too much and thinks way more of himself at this stage in his career/development than everyone else does. Too self-important, like most of these Belgian players.

I like the kid, definitely a gem to keep, his real test will be this summer, since he's going to be their main striker for World Cup.

I'm pretty judgmental when it comes to playing certain players on FIFA14; I hate his ball control and usually sell him whenever I play manager mode

Do any of you guys rate him? He's 21 now and he acts as if he is entitled to a starting spot. Most of the goals he scored at Everton were pretty dodgy

Re: The Fridge Full of Cash - Romelu Lukaku
I do, Honestly, he doesn't have the technique to be a starter but I think he'd be a solid player to throw on if we need a goal.
Dat ruthless attack. Dem CF Brute's torturing defenders into conceding. Jose would love that.
Schurrle, Oscar and Hazard slamming home anything our CF's miss.
Courtois
Azpilicueta Cahill Terry LB
Schurrle Matic Oscar Hazard
Lukaku Costa

Also, Technique will come with time so over time he'd force himself into the starting XI.

That is such a kickass line up. I really feel Oscar & Matic would go well together.

To fairly rate him to us, we need to see a run of him in a few games in our first team. Idk I really like the idea that one day he will become our main striker, we really need to see him play for us for that possibility.

Re: The Fridge Full of Cash - Romelu Lukaku
Real hard call as to whether we keep or sell him.
If we cash in now we can probably get in the vicinity of 20-30m i'd imagine. Either that or we gamble and keep him and he'll either progress into the player we all want or we'll end up selling him for less than he cost us.
It's really hard to say for strikers because they can all of a sudden come into form and realise potential, that said while he has the power and pace his dribbling and build up/hold up play aren't the best and it's hard to see how they'll drastically improve if they haven''t under a coach like Martinez.
For me we keep him till the end of the season and give him regular playing time(even as a sub or in cup games, but enough that he has a chance to prove himself).

It will be terrible to cash in on him. A player like him will really blossom, he's works hard me thinks.

I rate him above Costa.
It would be a great loss not to start him, let alone sell him.
He can break any parked bus.

Re: The Fridge Full of Cash - Romelu Lukaku
Lukaku needs to have more patience. No big team fighting for CL will risk going in with a 21 yr old as main striker. Whether he likes it or not - He will be the 2nd Choice no matter whom we buy.
Chelsea perhaps can't get a better 2nd Striker than him. He is just 21 & will improve. It is time chelsea have under studies like him. Hopefully Patrick gets loaned to PL side too.
