Re: The Fridge Full of Cash - Romelu Lukaku
on his day he is very clinical, He does fit our system IMO, more so than Torres and Ba as the amount of chances we create without having a poacher to finish them off is crazy, he is also good in the air which will help Cech's clearences and Might I remind you how old Drogba was when we signed him?

Re: The Fridge Full of Cash - Romelu Lukaku
He's more of a target man than a ball-at-his-feet kind of striker, for me. And every time I've seen him, he squanders more golden chances than he puts away (ahem ahem UCL Final last year...). The fact that he doesn't even start over Mandzukic also speaks volumes.
Torres 27. Shevchenko 29. Crespo 27.

Re: The Fridge Full of Cash - Romelu Lukaku
His goal tally also speaks volumes for me, when he plays and is on form he bangs them in, something we need. If he does nothing all game but score one or two goals, I'd be happy with him.
Sheva and Torres were never going to work at Chelsea. that was obvious before we bought them, Gomez would be the number 1 CF if he joined (as long as we have a sane manager) and won't have to compete with Drogba or be an injury prone transvestite.

also his goal tallys come from Germany which is more similar to the BPL than Italy, where Crespo and Sheva came from

Re: The Fridge Full of Cash - Romelu Lukaku
Let's also not forget that this is based completely on the assumption that's he's even going to be available in the summer.
Besides, he'd be totally against what the transfer policy at the club now is. Young players (Hazard, Oscar, Azpi, Moses, etc.) that we bring in now who will form the team for years to come. At 28, I can't see him fitting into that whatsoever or being a prime target.

I doubt we will sign him as well, however, if he is available and we can somehow get rid of the blonde spacewaster I'd be 100% for bringing in Gomez.

Re: The Fridge Full of Cash - Romelu Lukaku
I would have liked 11 too, but they gave that to Oscar
9 would suit him though. A proper center-forward number for a proper center-forward

Re: The Fridge Full of Cash - Romelu Lukaku
Wouldn't make sense! 9 is one of the few numbers from the old days that's stuck with its original position. Giving it to an attacking mid would seem...wrong.Kick wrote:maybe Oscar could take 9?
What could be done, though, is moving Oscar to 15 once SloMo moves on and giving 11 to Lulu. However, taking a first-team number that's already assigned to a player and moving him up is probably unlikely. #shipsalreadysailed

I know, we can always dream though!
Plus 15 is my favourite number so I'd be quite ok with Oscar wearing it!

Re: The Fridge Full of Cash - Romelu Lukaku
I'd prefer Ba to take 9 and Lulu to take 18 tbh.

Congrats to him but there were no big teams in action so it isn't really that hard.

Re: The Fridge Full of Cash - Romelu Lukaku
Only way Torres would make team of the week is if they started including 150lb paperweights in them. He'd be nailed on for that position every week.

Doubt Torres could do that right, He'd probably miss the paper.
