Re: The Fridge Full of Cash - Romelu Lukaku
As many will remember, I was one of those saying in May he did need another loan to a good footballing side to improve the technical facets of his game IF a top-notch striker were brought in over the summer. That one hasn't and he was still loaned out is shocking. What happens if Eto'o bombs? Back to square one? Madness.

On the bright side, he's almost certain to be an automatic starter now as Jelavic has tanked monumentally and Koné isn't even competition.

You out of all people should know why he had to go on loan..Shed wrote:José Mourinho shitting all over club youth players? #extraextrareadallaboutit

Fuken joke. He should be competing with Etoo for first spot. Ba and Torres are shit. At-least he has the chance to fight for Benteke for the WC starting spot now. Still fuken embarrassed by this shit.

It's not the worst place for him to go to but I can't believe we let him go over Ba.

Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku happy with Everton decision:

http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11668/8905103/transfer-news-chelsea-striker-romelu-lukaku-happy-with-everton-decision
"I am very glad. I read that some said I was not happy but I am very happy - this is a club that can bring me a lot, and I can bring a lot too."
"I still hope to grow and bring a lot to this team."
Lukaku says that he left Chelsea on good terms, as a number of people were shocked by their decision to loan him out.
"I think at my age it is important to play a lot, I have a good relationship with the coach at Chelsea and I hope to have good results."

Re: The Fridge Full of Cash - Romelu Lukaku
Mourinho is the best coach I have worked with... but I had to join Everton to play and improve, admits Lukaku:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2410480/Chelseas-Romelu-Lukaku-Jose-Mourinho-best-coach-I-worked--I-join-Everton-play.html
Relief to know at least that the manager spoke with him about it and that he seems to agree with the decision.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2410480/Chelseas-Romelu-Lukaku-Jose-Mourinho-best-coach-I-worked--I-join-Everton-play.html
"I was sitting in my hotel room in Brussels when the phone went to tell me I was going out on loan again. It was 7 pm, and that was the first I knew of it. There had not been a mention of it before then, but after speaking to my parents, I decided to take the plunge."
"I talked to the manager as well, and while what he said was confidential, it just underlined that he is the best coach I have worked with. Some beat about the bush, but he comes out straight and tells you what he thinks. As a player, that is what you want."
"The important thing, at 20, is to be playing, and while West Brom was an option, Everton was a better one. There are a few things I need to improve in my game, and Everton’s footballing approach and possession play can be perfect for me."
"My movement and runs to the far post and near post could be better, and I have already had a good, long conversation with the manager Roberto Martinez about that. I’ve also known Kevin Mirallas since I was 14, and that should help. We talked about it (the loan move) all last night."
"Samuel Eto’o signing for Chelsea didn’t influence my decision, because I was already behind Fernando Torres in the pecking order anyway."
"I am looking forward to playing again, and that penalty miss against Bayern has not affected my confidence. I drove straight home afterwards, because I had to clear my head. It was the worst thing that could have happened to me, but I was able to smile again the next day. My team-mates talked to me a lot at the time, and that helped."

Chelsea's Romelu Lukaku praises Everton and their "beautiful football" after joining on loan:
The Belgium striker pleased to be spending the season at Goodison rather than fretting about game-time under Mourinho in a World Cup year

"For my development and with the World Cup coming up at the end of the season, I cannot afford to stay on the bench. At Everton, I can continue my progress in a club that likes to play beautiful football."
"We were signing balls and T-shirts. I said to the coach that I had something urgent and I went up to my room."
"I wanted to think and talk to my parents. I wanted to know certain things before I agreed. When you are on loan, you have to know that you are really going to play."
"Then I received a call from Roberto Martinez and he reassured me and said lots of nice things. And Kevin Mirallas was in my room with me almost the whole time. He told me how things worked at Everton and he encouraged me to come."
"I thought I would stay at Chelsea, but I was only 90 per cent sure."
"I had some doubts about the game time I would get. At my age, I absolutely have to play. The arrival of Samuel Eto’o had nothing to do with it."
"Jose Mourinho called me and he was clear with me. It is better like that. I like it when a coach is honest."
"He is the best coach I have had. He wanted to make me better and did it with a firm hand. Together, we agreed that a loan was the best solution."
"Other clubs were interested. For Malaga, I was not allowed to go outside England. West Bromwich Albion was also there but I didn’t want to choose the easy option."
"We must face challenges and mine will be at Everton."

Chelsea boss reveals striker's resolve to
get away:
José Mourinho says Romelu Lukaku is out on loan again, because the player himself pleaded for the chance to try his luck elsewhere

Well after you froze him out for the first three games of the season in favour of 2 cart horses who couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with a beachball, who can blame him. Probably was fearing a repeat of his season under AVB rotting away on the bench.

"The kid wants to play every weekend."
"I don’t know if Roberto [Martinez] promised him that, but the kid is more keen on that than competing with other big players for a position."
"He’s a great kid and that’s why we don’t want to sell him. We had good proposals to do it. We all believe he is a player for many years at Chelsea."

Agree with you there, Sheddy.
I think Lukaku saw AVb all over again.
