Brazil vs Argentina
Who has the better shot winning the WC two years from now?
Brazil contrary to the Messi apologists belief easily have the best attack in International football. Messi, Higuain, Di Maria, Aguero etc? Are you kidding me?
Midfield isn't bad either. Pastore, Banega, Mascherano etc They're defense is admittedly trash though.
Brazil have improved these past few months but they're still some gaping holes in the team and questions marks in some areas.
Can Alves and Marcelo coincide in the same team? Can Pato & Ganso recover from their injury woes? Will the old heads still be ostracized from the squad? Will Nerman really improve playing in Brazil? Will Oscar ruin his career by moving to Chelsea? How will Lucas fare in France? etc etc

Re: Brazil vs Argentina
Argentinas defence is non exitsnt and their mf is laughable. The problem with them is the transition from mf to attack Messi has to play #10 for thjem He is their only creative source. Brazil have no chance

Re: Brazil vs Argentina
Mate, have you checked Argentina's defense out?Its ridiculously bad,no way they will even get close,
I think we will finish top 3,we havent lost at home since 1950.
Our youngsters are really good, probably our best u23 generation ever if they win the golden medal tomorrow

ARgentina have one of the worstv defences I have ever seen in a big NT. It's embarrassing tbh. If either team met Spain, VDB and the spanich players would be charged for rape

Re: Brazil vs Argentina
Brazil has Lucas and centrebacks to go along with the two best wingbacks in the game. They have a good base.
They are decent in midfield and attack as well.

some of our players will be much better and more experienced by the world cup.things change,we are much better than our copa america team and only 1 year has passed.if we keep growing until 2014,trophies will come naturally.

Re: Brazil vs Argentina
Don't have to worry about defence any more, Colo has arrived to save the day
Also i see i'm one of the few that argue Argentina's midfield is worse than their defence then.....

Re: Brazil vs Argentina
Argentina's defense is indeed poor at the moment, but I do see ways that it can be fixed.
Mascherano isn't at all bad at CB so I don't understand why he's not used their for Argentina. He did quite well there for Barcelona. You've got the likes of Gago and Cambiasso who can fit the bill as the DM in midfield. A potential partner for Masch could be Burdisso, who's miles more solid than he was at Inter. It's the full-backs that appear to be the problem for Argentina. Not quite sold on Marcos Rojo and Pablo Zabaleta's decidedly average so I think that's where Argentina's real defensive concern should be.

Mascherano can play CB. There's also Garay, Ansaldi, Zabaleta and Otamendi.

That team looks brilliant, only question I'd have is if Marcelo and Alves will work in the same team but you've got two extremely mobile CBs, Leiva not going anywhere and Ramires to help cover.
Argentina's only hope is that they can get a cohesive and consistent front 4 before going into this tournament. Their midfield is decent but even if Banega recovers 100% from his injury it'll still be a coin-toss if he'll show up or not.
Also, sh*t fullbacks.

Argentina(4-2-3-1):Romero-Zabaleta-Garay-Coloccini-Ansaladi-Mascherano-Pastore-Aguero-Messi-Di Maria-Higuain.
Dont see how this is a bad team at all.Best attack in International football and Midfield isnt that bad while Defence is decent.

Pastore at DM
Strong squad as long as they can sort out the fullbacks. I still expect Spain to win but Brazil won't be far off, should make the Semi's.

Alves TS Luiz Marcelo
Ramires Lucas
Hulk Oscar Neymar

Argentina could pull through like the Dutch did in 2010, just needs to keep the attacking force strong.

Too little defence in both teams, imo. At least in the Argentina one. Change it to 4-4-1-1 with Aguero replaced with a LM and you'll have my approval.

Re: Brazil vs Argentina
You guys are making unrealistic Argentina teams,Sabella never played and probably never will play the 4-2-3-1.he keeps using the 4-4-2 with some awful players like Sosa, boca's LB,some CBS we never heard of etc...also Mascherano plays as dm for them, they have no one else that can play that role well,at least ATM

Re: Brazil vs Argentina
I'd personally like to see Brazil return to their traditional 4-2-2-2. As long as certain players are disciplined it could definitely work. It would give Alves and Mehcelo far more freedom and Nerman would be playing in his best position. Also a way of getting Pato into the side. Before Dnmac bites my head off not saying Damiao isn't a good player but Pato - minus injuries is in a different League entirely. Think a Pato-Nerman partnership could be special.

Pato is one of the most overrated players in recent memory.
Add to the fact he's the Brazilian Kieron Dyer.
Damiao all day erry day for me.

Re: Brazil vs Argentina
Argentina's Midfield and Defence is pitiful, but not because they don't have the quality. Rather, the quality players are not called while mediocrity is preferred.
I swear, if Sabella starts Sosa in MF in 2014 then my butthurt will be epic

Re: Brazil vs Argentina
Our midfield is worse than our defense in the Sabella era, but I think that might change soon.
We have no chance, we don't have FBs, our keeper was playing in Serie B last year and he will play for relegation fodder in this one. Our only hope is to become a counter-attacking team and just feed the ball to Messi and hope he does something - but we don't really have the players for that.
U23 Brazil raped us, if it weren't for Messi we would have easily lost.
That being we're still at top 5 team in the world, so what does that say about international football...
