Either way Cassilas ahs not been the standout individual this season. Anyone that watches football knows that. The only way he would win anything is on setiment. Best my arse

good to see you take a joke as serious because thats the only leg you have to stand on lmao

Who else has been as good as Iker for club and country?

Messi, only for club, Ronaldo was close but not quite there. Casillas was a standout and his performances for the Euro's deserve the recognition it gets.

He was also pivotal for Real Madrid.

I'm going to agree with the experts on football and the people that actually play the game and say Iker should win it.

If a striker had the sort of tournament that Iker did we would all be calling for him to win the award, since it's a keeper it's somehow different...

Good logic that.

I don't rank players on whether they did well for 'club and country'... I couldn't care less who they performed with, merely the way they performed.

Messi was the best... Don't even really see any argument against it.

And even if we look at their international performances. Casillas was great, but Ronaldo's Euros were so overrated it wasn't funny. 2 games where he was so sh*t he deserved garbage thrown at him, one mediocre game where he scores a winner, and one great game. Nothing special at all.

Messi didn't do loads... but he hasn't really competed in anything this year for his NT so you can't say he's been bad for country. He's also scored 7 from 3 in his his games. Friendly or not... not bad.

Messi was better than CR, thats an easy one. Difficult to compare a keeper to a forward, but Messi was better than Casillas as well for me.

yea yea, highest level thats why madrid conceded almost a goal a game. Rolling Eyes

Iker is not and will never be better than either of those two. What a disgrace

And your point, we scored over 120 goals in the league, you're telling me that a sound defensive team, that's being careful at the back? lmao

We aren't Barcelona where Valdes has nothing to do.

Also look at his performances in the UCL as well, not a single goal conceded in the group stages.

Not to mention his Euro performance which was the best performance by a keeper in the history of the tournament, breaking every record along the way.

I suppose you want him to score goals though to be relevant lmao
You may be right but not many care about Madrids UEFA success, what difficult opponents they had.. the only top club they faced was Bayern, I'm glad Casillas can save shots vs Apoel, Ajax, Dinamo Zabred (wtf?) and the mighty Lyon.. lol please don't brag about the UEFA.
