Re: Official Europa League Thread
That will do. Away goal, no big name players tired or injured. And a good look at some of the kids.

Re: Official Europa League Thread
That will do and Gil we are resting our entire team because we play another game in less than 48 hrs
I do like how we are keeping the ball better this season but going forward we need to be more incisive and creating more when in possession.
As for Simpson he did well last season yes but he restricts us going forward, he is poor in possession and can't contribute anything going forward.
Main reason we want a fullback tbh, also i don't understand the Perch hate
He's been fantastic in what ever role he's been deployed in for quite a long time now.
There's a reason the fans call him Perchinho now

Re: Official Europa League Thread
By the way, considering that so many people say that clubs don't earn money in the Europe League - interestingly it seems that Hannover 96 earned about 20 mio Euros during their EL run last season, making a profit of 5 mio Euros after taxes etc from it.

Re: Official Europa League Thread
The argument isn't that clubs don't make money, it's that the money they make is basically negligible compared to what they get for even making the group stages of the CL.

Yeah
Isn't it 9m for Winning the whole Europa League, 20m just for making CL groups?
I'm all for trying to win Europa League, but its sort of foolish to jeopardize a possible CL spot to do it, especially if you are a team who's depth is restricted by finances

Re: Official Europa League Thread
According to the above article, the commercial sponsors (at least here in Germany) actually give interesting deals to the teams that reach the EL, too. Thus the teams (again at least in Germany) profit far more than just from the money given by the UEFA. And before you lose out on this revenue, it is actually a bit silly only to concentrate on the faint possibility of reaching a CL spot. After all, even the qualification spot is no guaranteed entry into the CL group stage (as BMG sadly discovered).RedOranje wrote:The argument isn't that clubs don't make money, it's that the money they make is basically negligible compared to what they get for even making the group stages of the CL.
Oh, BTW, VfB Stuttgart qualified for the EL group stage as of today by a 1:1 draw in Moscow after a 2:0 win in Stuttgart.
