critics and lucky winner of competitions on radio or sites get the see films before they come out so they can hype up the movie before it comes out

The guy i know reviews movies on some site and he gets to go to alot of screenings of movies, tvs and red carpet events for free

There are some sites which you have to look around a bit that tell you where to go to get free movie screening, for example i would about to go to the Spiderman screening but the line was long and people had been waiting since early morning

this is one site

By the way, I saw Moonrise Kingdom the other day. If you like Wes Anderson's quirky indie films (Rushmore, Bottle Rocket, The Life Aquatic, etc.) you'll probably like this one.

Oh I totally forgot to mention I saw this the other day. Talked about it before and how excited I was to see it and it didn't disappoint. I don't know much about Wes Anderson (never really watched any of his movies) but Moonrise Kingdom was one of the better movies I've seen recently. Quite funny, quirky, and interesting.

Then again, I'd love anything with Norton, Murray, Willis, and McDormand, but this movie was class all around.

Glad you liked it. It's such an oddball film that I'm sure it's not for everyone's taste, but I think anyone who likes the quirky indie stuff will come away smiling.

Yesterday I watched my favorite Alfred Hitchcock film, North by Northwest, on the big screen at my local Cinemark, digitally restored and remastered. What an incredible experience! It was almost like seeing it for the first time. Thumbs up

So I watched the first two Batman films a couple of days ago, and I feel like Batman Begins is the best one, any other who feel that way?

I really think The Dark Knight has turned a bit overrated

I have watched the two movies countless times and i liked them equally though both are very different. The first movie in my opinion is more perfect than the dark knight. It is like comparing godfather movies. The part II was more epic and action packed than first part but was too hurried. The one thing that sets the dark knight apart is the joker.

Yeah I agree with most of what you say, i just have Batman Begins as 1% better.

TDK edges: in action and the Joker and Harvey Dent is amazing.
BB edges in the fact that Batman is more interesting in it, and the whole story is way better imo, I'm just a big homer in superhero movies that tells how they became the person they are today

I've never been that big a Batman fan. I haven't even seen Batman Begins. I went to see The Dark Knight because it was reviewed so well and I did enjoy it, but probably not as much as most. I may or may not go see this one. I always liked the Marvel superheroes better (I grew up reading Spider-Man, Daredevil, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, The Fantastic Four, etc.).

Rotten Tomato shutdown their commenting system on reviews because some critics decided to give it rotten and fans starting giving them death threat

i know a few people who have seen it already and they say it was bloody amazing

Alot of critics are really aweful imo, old men who gives a movie a bad review just because it has many fans, I have seen that by a lot of movies

I'm pissed might have to wait an entire week....even then....I don't do the crowded theater scene....so yea.... Mad

Critics see stuff from their own perspective and some are just straight up haters when it comes down to this stuff, their opinion is hardly final.

My favourite is probably Roger Ebert, I find him very objective, and he can also appreciate movies that isn't his favourite genres and such, we also studied him in movie science in school, so there is probably some great ones out there i haven't heard of.

I just look at the imdb ratings when i want to decide whether to watch a movie or not.
Other than the superhero movies, the ratings are somewhat accurate. Nothing better than collective ratings.

You should definitely watch batman begins even if you are not a fan. Batman begins, Watchmen, superman returns and TDK are really great for mature audiences. Dont know why they didnt pick up from superman returns, not that i am complaining about 'man of steel'

I loved Superman Returns, no idea why it wasn't more popular that movie was brilliant. I still need to find time to watch the Watchman, looks good. Looking foward to The Dark Knight Rises, though I fear it will be one of those overhyped movies which everyone says is good but turns out to be utter garbage, every single one of the Harry Potter suffered from this, don't know why I even listen to peoples opinions honestly. I really don't like the look of Ann Hathaway(sp?) in her role, she isn't curvy enough, should have just gotten Halle Barry or someone like that.

Note:New Spiderman=garbage, save your money.

I still havent seen The Avengers film, but a quick trip to 1channel will sort that out. Quick question, am I the only person who prefers going to the cinema alone and a few weeks after the movie has come out to avoid the packed cinema? If its a movie I like I go alone, I cant stand people talking to me when I'm into a film. If its a date I make sure we watch a crap movie so that I'm begging her to talk lol
