tablecloths??

Anyway, I just came back from the game. Lucky me: I witnessed Kagawa's first ever goal for Manchester United.

Jerseys look like tablecloth/picnic rug or whatever. Bebe was united's best player imo, wish Anelka and Drogs had have played.

Yeah Bebe was a threat against Shanghai. After the goal, everyone was cheering for him whenever he received the ball.

I was more impressed by Vesseli and Kagawa though, and I think Brady should have been substituted in the second half instead of Vesseli. Brady was energetic throughout the game, but he was somewhat not ... "solid".

Yeah Brady was good, what's his natural position as they were saying it's not LB? The guy is built like a tank though, very physical. Shame for Nick Powell, would've been good for him to get on the scoresheet. Kagawa was decent, thought the commentators were just piling it on h im though so kinda got sick of it Razz

Yeah I could sense like everyone (especially the Japanese in front of my row) was starstruck by Kagawa until Scholes came on, and I was probably not an exception too.

I believe Brady used to play as a winger but I'm not sure.

Brady is a winger, he struggled today, not entirely his fault. Kagawa was easily man of the match. Once again, he shows us his intelligence on the field by making the right movement and passes.

Kagawa was brilliant. I was really impressed with his performance...has great link up play, great vision and rarely loses the ball or misplaces a pass. Looks like the making of a great signing.

Petrucci looked decent too. Made a few good cut through passes, most noteably one for Powell, who should have scored.

Bebe was really good. Did well to assist Kagawa, and also got into good positions. Looks like he has improved somewhat (even if the oppo was as mediocre as shangai). Good signs.

Glad Kagawa got his first for the club.

Good game from Kagawa and Bebe. Powell was also decent. I can't say that for Macheda though.

Manchester United Reserves beat non-league side Market Drayton Town (6-2) with Tunnicliffe, Bebe, Petrucci, Lingard (2), and Macheda all scoring.

The game was .... bad.

In fact, United have not, for once, displayed winning mentality; they have lost it!

Facepalm at post above.

Was a good game overall - with Kagawa very much impressing me again. We could have scored at least two goals, but we were wasteful in front of goal. The lack of goals is worrying, but we haven't really played a full strength team, with the exception being the game yesterday.

Everyone has their own opinion, no need for a knee-jerk. The way United played was so mentally detrimental and frustrating. I'm starting to feel sorry Kagawa has to play with such a bunch of under-performers.

Yeah I thought it was a good game too. we were all over them offensively, and our players looked rusty (the ones coming back froma break). i thought Welbeck and Kagawa were immense, especially the latter. His one touch passes, and his ability to create space for himself is brilliant.

On any other day, we would have smashed that team 5-0. they did have some clear chances though, mind you.

United have about 3 more friendlies before the league campaign opener v Everton, so I'm confident the player's sharpness will get back to the top level.

PS, so great to see Vidic back. He had a solid game.

relax bud. It's just a pre season friendly where the majority of our players were back from holiday and were not match fit.

The rustiness showed in the final 3rd of the pitch, and the difference between Kagawa and the rest of the players showed. One has played about 3 friendlies already, the others, it was their first.

Hope work went well for you today, mate.

It was a good game, most of our players impressed. David de Gea save us on a couple of occasions, Patrice Evra looked very impressive, Nani caused danger, Anderson had a surprisingly good game, the whole squad, to be fair, put in decent shifts. We had a penalty wrongly awarded, but sadly Wayne Rooney missed it. Throughout the whole game, Barcelona pressured high as usual, but Tito Vilanova added extra pressure by adding one more man to pressure us, which is unorthodox when you compare it to Pep Guardiola's style. Finally, we lost on penalties. Nani hit the crossbar (good penalty, you could say he was unlucky) and Ashley Young followed his footsteps. Xavi and Gerard Pique scored - subsequently Barcelona won.

Hope that clears things up, sorry for the poor structure.

Reliable as always, Capitano Wink Thank you bro.

Just before you posted, I actually watched the highlights in the barcelona section. DDG looked solid, as did Nani. Shame about the pen misses...

Good run out against a quality team for our players.
