Re: Summer Transfer Rumour Thread Pt. 5
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has rejected the idea that the club have agreed a loan move for Real Madrid midfielder Nuri Sahin.
The Frenchman told Arsenal.com: "We did not sign anybody today, this report is wrong. We are not signing anybody at the moment - we are not close. In the future you never know."
Wenger had recently stated that he aims to make further additions to his squad and Santi Cazorla is reportedly his number one target but was far more coy on the future of wantaway striker Robin van Persie.
When quizzed on the Dutch striker's future, he added: "We could come back forever on Van Persie. We have our main strikers at home and Van Persie is one of them.
"But we have Podolski and Giroud who are at home, so we have plenty of strikers. For us at the moment it is to prepare for the season - it is more than any individual player."

Astori - Roma:
According to Corriere dello Sport, the Giallorossi have already sounded out the centre-back about a move to the Stadio Olimpico, as the Azzurri international is represented by same people as Mattia Destro, who recently agreed to join the capital club.

Hernanes:
Lazio’s Brazilian playmaker Hernanes is a wanted man this summer, with Barcelona and Milan among the clubs interested in him, according to his agent.
The 27-year-old was linked earlier in the summer with a move out of the Aquile, but this was quickly denied by the player’s representative.
However, that same agent has revealed now that several clubs are monitoring his current situation in Rome.
“Right now I am in Brazil but I will be returning to Rome in August and I will speak again with President [Claudio] Lotito,” admitted Joseph Lee to Lalaziosiamonoi.it.
“I have received many phone calls and had many requests for information on my client. There has been no official offer from a major club, but I have had several agents call me in the market.
“I have heard of interest from Barcelona and also Milan, even if I’ve not received an offer.
“Hernanes has a contract with Lazio and has repeated several times that he wants to stay in Rome.
“His name, however, is circulating amongst many agents, who are all asking me for his details.”

- Destro and Piris deals set to be made official on Monday
- We're still in for Eintracht Frankfurt's Sebastian Jung, but Vasilis Torosidis does look very likely to be our next major signing.
- Gaby Heinze's being linked with Newell's Old Boys and Bologna so he may move on, allowing us to move for one of Davide Astori, Dejan Lovren, Ezequiel Garay or Angelo Ogbonna. All are rated at 10m +, with Lyon reportedly asking for as much as 20m for Lovren.

Re: Summer Transfer Rumour Thread Pt. 5
Palermo’s Federico Balzaretti is ready to be released to Napoli, on the condition the player accepts a move to the Stadio San Paolo.
Both the Azzurri and Roma are seeking out the left-back and due to his contract ending next June a transfer is a real possibility.
Speaking with Radio CRC, Rosanero president Maurizio Zamparini announced, “I don’t know if Balzaretti will be convinced to go. It will now depend on Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis, who will talk to the player directly.”
“Napoli’s offer is the best, but the player has some doubts as he has always maintained that he would stay here or move to Paris Saint-Germain.”
However, Balzaretti is in favour of a move to Paris as his wife works as a ballerina in the French capital.

The rumours started because he said Carroll could potentially go out on loan... I was merely hoping Rodgers was trying to do a Mourinho. Who knows what to believe anymore.

Mancini:
Mancini said: "We did well last year. This year will be harder because when you win, the problem is to win again.
"For this reason I think that we need to improve our team with maybe some new players,
"I'm sure that maybe in the next two weeks we can do something about new players.
"We are talking to some players, but the market is not easy. It's difficult, and for this reason we need more time."
Asked how many players he feels he needs to keep City ahead of their rivals, Mancini said: "I don't know at this moment. But we have a lot of players and I don't think that we need 10 new players."

Robinho did consider a move to Santos, but has pledged his future to Milan, “the last European club of my career. I’ll score double figures this season.”
The Brazilian had been on his way back to Brazil this summer, but was suddenly yanked off the market once Zlatan Ibrahimovic was sold to PSG.
“It is true my old club worked hard to bring me back to Brazil, but in Europe there is only Milan for me,” he told the Corriere dello Sport.
“Was I tempted? Not particularly... There is time to return to Santos. I want to give a great deal here at Milan, which will be the last European club of my career.”

Re: Summer Transfer Rumour Thread Pt. 5
Fulham manager Martin Jol is keeping quiet over speculation linking Clint Dempsey with a Liverpool move but is keen to keep the star forward at Craven Cottage.
Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has made his interest in the USA international known but the Cottagers insist they have received no bids for the 29-year-old.
Dempsey, who netted 23 goals for Fulham last season, is entering the final year of his deal in West London having joined the club from New England Revolution in 2007.
Jol is reluctant to discuss the transfer talk surrounding the American but says he wants to keep him at the club.
"I don't want to talk about that (speculation)," the manager told the Fulham Chronicle.
"I love Clint, he scored a lot of goals and I want to keep him."

Re: Summer Transfer Rumour Thread Pt. 5
Vitesse Arnhem have yet to submit a bid to re-sign Theo Janssen and Ajax are not expected to want to sell the midfielder.
The 31-year-old spent the first decade of his career with Vitesse before a move to FC Twente and then a transfer to Ajax on a two-year deal in 2011.
Reports have suggested Janssen could return to Vitesse this summer, despite just helping Ajax to the Eredivisie title last season.
But Ajax's director of football, Marc Overmars, has yet to receive an offer and he is adamant any decision over a possible sale would rest with manager Frank de Boer.
"Vitesse have been linked with Theo, but there is no bid. Frank de Boer and the others in the technical team will decide what they want to do," Overmars told De Telegraaf.
"If the coach says he cannot leave, then he stays. And I can imagine that he says that, because Theo was and is an important player for Ajax.
"If Frank thinks he can get a certain amount for him, we will talk then. But for now, there is nothing."
