Re: Mr Agile - Luka Modric
And so, with great sadness, it appears to be time to say farewell to one of this summer’s old friends: the Luka Modric transfer saga. After weeks of “is he going to Real Madrid or isn’t he” speculation, it appears that, finally, he is.
The Croatia international playmaker’s move to the Bernabeu is set to be completed in the next 48 hours after Spurs chairman Daniel Levy ratified the deal.
Modric is preparing to fly to the Spanish capital to complete his medical and finalise a move that was mistakenly flagged up on the official Real Madrid website in an embarassing error earlier this week. Bernabeu officials quickly removed the post, which suggested Modric was already part of their first-team squad - but they should be able to re-publish the article in the next couple of days.

Re: Mr Agile - Luka Modric
The Club can announce that it has signed a partnership agreement
with Real Madrid FC and reached agreement for the transfer of Luka
Modric, subject to medical, to the Spanish club.
The partnership agreement will see the two Clubs working together
in respect of players, coaching, best practices and commercial
relationships.
Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspurs have reached an agreement for the
transfer of Luka Modric, who will sign a five-year contract with the
club. Both clubs have also entered into a collaboration agreement.

Official.
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez said: "The strong relationship and affinity between our two clubs has resulted in the cementing of a longer-term partnership and the successful transfer of Luka Modric.
"We are delighted to welcome Luka and look forward to working closely with Tottenham in the coming years."
Levy added: "Luka has been a terrific player for us and, whilst we preferred not to part with him, we are pleased that it is to Real Madrid, a club with which we now look forward to sharing a long and productive partnership."

Re: Mr Agile - Luka Modric
Spurs are basically now our feeder club.
Seeing a lot of comments from Spurs fans saying it'll be easier to sign Bale if we want him, hopefully we don't sign him though.

Re: Mr Agile - Luka Modric
Press conference:
"I'm very happy, honoured and proud to be at the biggest and best club in the world. I'm very excited," Modric said.
“Finally this happened and I am relieved,” Modric told a news conference.
“It’s the biggest challenge of my footballing career and I’m sure I will succeed. I have everything I need here, best coach in the world, best players, and I just need to enjoy everything and play my football.”
"I chose the Spanish league because it's one of the best leagues in the world," he said at a press conference at the Bernabeu this afternoon.
"And I chose Madrid because they are the best club in the world. They've won so many things, so many titles. It's amazing for me to be here."
"When I heard that Madrid noticed me, the rest lost interest.
With reference to how he dealt with the negotiations dragging on for so long, the Croat underlined that "they were difficult times for me.
"I spent almost a month unable to train with the team but now I’m happy and relieved. I'm looking forward to starting training with Madrid because this is the biggest challenge of my football career."
"Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, Angel Di Maria, Gonzalo Higuain, Mesut Ozil, Xabi Alonso - I look forward to playing with them.
"I'm ready for anything and I've come here to win a place in the starting team.
"I know that will be hard but I believe I have the qualities needed to play here. I want to help the team win titles."
"I like to play technical football. I've played in central midfield and I can play in any position, but my new coach will decide where he wants to get the best out of me as a player. I'll be happy to play wherever he decides. I'll give it everything I've got to improve the team and achieve good results", he stated.
"The most important thing is how the season ends, not how it starts", he stated.
"I feel good. I still need to train with the team, but I'm ready to play against Barça",
Real have endured a disappointing start to the season, securing only one point from two league games and losing the first leg of the Spanish Super Cup against Barcelona 3-2.
"I've seen all three games. It's not important how you start, but how it ends," he said.
"There are still a lot of games to come in all competitions. The important thing is to finish well."
Modric also explained that his first challenge will be "to cement a place in the team, but I feel ready to do that. I want to improve every day alongside the coaching staff and my teammates. The objective is to win trophies with Real Madrid, the Champions League, La Liga, the Cup… ".
The Croat confirmed that he hasn’t spoken to Mourinho. "I hope to do so at my first training session", to which he added, "The players who inspired when I started playing football were Boban at AC Milan, one of the best Croatian players of all time and Francesco Totti, but especially Boban.
Modric revealed the exact moment when he heard about Real Madrid's interest: "I first heard about Madrid's interest before the European Championships. When I heard that Madrid had set its sights on me, I lost interest in everyone else. This is the best club in the world, with the best coach, with the best players. Cristiano, Benzema, Di María, Higuaín, Özil, Alonso... I'm looking forward to playing with them. I'm sure they'll help me settle in quickly".
Modric has no criticisms of his former club: "Tottenham's attitude hasn't bothered me. I'm extremely grateful to the club. I spent four amazing years there, during which I enjoyed every moment. I'd like to thank everybody who made mine and my family's lives so easy. This is a new chapter in my life. I don't bear them any grudges, whatever is said. I have nothing but gratitude towards Tottenham".

I had an old Modric one yes, but now mine is Ryu from Super Street Fighter
And yes I am always sad if one of my favorite players is playing for Madrid. That would be natural considering I support Barca wouldn't it?

To much money for bench player...
Not good as Xabi for his job, not good as Khedira for his job, not good as Ozil for his job.
