Congratulations to Valencia. That is a very prestigious number in our club's history and it couldn't have gone to a more deserving guy.

Re: Antonio Valencia
Can someone tell me what has happened to Valencia?
where has the player who won Utd's player of the season award in 2012 gone?
This guy is just embarrassing himself now. he can't seem to pass the ball, can't beat a player and cannot cross to save his life. did anyone see that shot he took that was heading for a throw in but deflected off Carrick? smh
That summed up his whole season.
Cr*p player.

Re: Antonio Valencia
Was one of my favourite players in his first few seasons at the club...has become a joke of a footballer now. Incredible. The most frustrating part for me is how slow his decision making is now, everytime he gets the ball in a dangerous position he just seems to pause and not know what do with the ball, if that's not bad enough, after all that delay all he'll eventually do is cross it right against the opposition defender or play a tame ball in if he hasn't already been dispossessed of the ball by then ofcourse. To think how excited everyone was at having a great no 7 again, how do you go from being best winger in the league to such poor levels ? The only solution is for him to be permanently converted into a backup RB I'm afraid. Zaha's arrival next season will mark the end of him.

A sad conclusion that I agree with. this is not a case of bad form, this is a case of someone who seems to have lost his ability to play his natural game. similar to Torres.
We desperately need to keep nani, as he is by far our most effective winger.

Finally, Valencia got his old #25 shirt back.
It is better for him; less pressure, better performances; better for Man United.

I wish he would f*ck off from this club. Someone out there please save us and buy this guy. Save us from our misery. Can't stand the sight of him whenever I see him in that starting 11.

Re: Antonio Valencia
Hand on your heart, and with all honesty, in the past 3 years, has there been a worse player at United than this guy?
Not even Butnner, cleverely and Young are as infuriating to watch as he is.
Valencia in a nutshell- get's the ball...runs forward for a bit, stops, passes it to rafa or smalling.
- we have a promising counter attack. he gets the ball, stops...waits for like what seems to be an eternity, then passes it either backwards or sideways. By that time, the opposing team's defenders are all back in positon.
- or the most common valencia trait. gets the ball in the final 3rd...looks completely clueless, despite having a few players as options...chooses to aimlessly blast the ball at a defenders shin for a throw on or corner kick.
Never ever uses his left foot. it's like he would spontaneously combust if he attempted it. His crosses would make Bebe shake his head in disgust...
...yet this man is the first name on the team sheet every week.
It defies belief.

Honestly, yes he is. I can't think of what he could do worse, maybe score a few more own goals. He is as bad as it gets.

Re: Antonio Valencia
So.. valencia. what the heck is his actual level then.
Said he was improving 2 matches ago against city and look how that turned out.
Its disastrous the state we are in when it comes to our team balance . Rafael's man u career is almost over. And valencia our so called back up full back is keeping on making decisive errors during games. And we have like 3 or 4 players who can play left back role and virtually none who can fill in the role on the right flank.
We need 2 RBs for next season. Valencia well, I dont even know anymore. Somedays he does a job decently. But surely is he the level we aspire ourselves to be going into next season. What should we do ? Is Clyne the answer ? Is Janko ready ? How is Varela doing on loan ?
I mean the imbalance in this side when it comes to certain positions is simply effing unbelievable.

Re: Antonio Valencia
He's like this bad itch we can't get rid of. Poor limited player but due to his burst of speed and strength, managers like him for some reason, despite him not being able to beat a man, cross a ball or defend- key essentials for a RB/winger.
The sooner we buy a proper RB and the sooner he is shown the door, the better. Just not good enough and has cost us goals time and time again this season. He's been okayish the past few games but he's still a liabilty, and the fact that LVG prefers him to Rafael is criminal imo.
To answer your question, I would take any RB right now if it meant we never get to see Valencia play there. Clyne I'm sceptical about, I saw him play at elite level for England twice and he looked out of his depth. He's young though, atleast he has that going for him so there's room for improvement. I wouldn't mind Contreao too as back up. Both would be vast improvements to Valencia, its not even funny lol.

Re: Antonio Valencia
Am I the only one who observed how good is Valencia at RB with Mourinho? He is one of the world's greatest in that position in my opinion. For me he was the best RB in EPL this season so far. He learned how to defend, he is very intelligent, has an amazing body and is almost unbeatable one on one due to these qualities.
We all agree that he is very consistent, working hard every game and I believe he is a key player for us.
