even on media there were articles about madrid's penalties. they got so many penalties at the first half of the season until they got 10 points gap. then they started to give useless penalties to barca to silence doubters

Just letting anyone who is interested know this whole thread was mostly about how creating is better than scoring (which is stupid considering that in order to win, one must score but whatever).

After winning the game at camp nou (1-2) proved that they (realmadrid) deserved to win the Liga.

If that match was won by Barca and Real Madrid won by just one point. that would have been unfair (because of referee mistakes etc..)..

Conclusion; Liga 2011-12 was won by Real Madrid and they deserve it.

Real Madrid would have won La Liga without Cristiano (Higuain can play Cristiano's role)
But, without Ozil, they can't.

Ozil> Cristiano!!

Ozil, Iniesta, Pirlo this season > Cristiano (at least this is my opinion)

Actually I find billion's post with merit. I think it was a stat-tracker who pointed out that Madrid did get many penalty decisions on the first half of last season. Too lazy to find it though. Anyway, these things even out as the season progresses, not because the refs were paid to do so, but they just do. scratch Khaled is right. If the league ended with say, United and City's case, those decisions would have been a big issue altogether.

And in that same note, if Cristiano (or whoever) didn't score from the chances created, it would have come to naught. As I said, scoring and creating are of equal value and difficulty.

Le Samourai wrote:As i say often, Cristiano deserves credit for penalties and set pieces etc, but from open play within the natural flow and tempo of the game, I personally would take Benz and Ozil ahead of him.

And please don't compare Benz goal stats to Cristiano's ffs, Cristiano takes 3x the number of shots and the entire team feeds him (rightfully so)...Benz's job is primarily to create and he does that exquisitely.

you underrate a very important aspect of players : 'consistency ' , ozil and benz arent there yet because htey are not as consistent, and consistency is what will win you the league

and about that shot ratio, it doesnt automatically indicate quality of finishing because a lot of cristiano;s shots were from long range, or angles.. he likes taking shots from there, its a form of creating chances often out of nothing and in facts adds to his unpredictability, and yeah quite a few of them go in as well..

The thing about his shooting, sure it adds to his own personal unpredictability and it's important for him as a player to take those shots, but I don't think it creates chances.

I don't want him to stop shooting completely, that's ridiculous, but...

He overdoes it, there are times he'll take those shots on the counter , he'll take those shots before any sort of play develops, everyone else ends up standing and watching a personal battle between him and the keeper, there's no effective team play there, no one gets a chance to get into their ryhtym, Ozil and Benzema don't get the chance to create....etc etc.

On the consistency point, Ozil and Benz and even Di Maria will create, they will do it consistently, it's just in their nature, their awareness of space , passing options, once they get the ball they will use it effectively and get chances.

Neither however, consistently finish those chances, and that's where Cristiano and Higuain come into play.Benz will score more as well because his goals are almost all come when he touches the ball deep and engineers a play he himself can be on the end of, something he can't do if he doesn't touch the ball.

Well Samourai, if a team doesn't have a true Finisher the team's bound to struggle scoring against even competition or a PTB team. Take this France vs Spain at this years Euros for example.

France litterally hogged the ball away from Spain yet couldn't find the net. The focus was creation with no end product. Hardly anyone took a shot from outside the box or was able to shoot inside the box.

You can also take Barca vs Chelsea as another example. Although this is a lesser argument as I believe Chelsea had some pretty sweet luck. 2nd leg of RM vs Barca in La Liga is also a valid one IMO.

thank god its only your opinion Smile ... there's a reason why almost no one shares that opinion lol

Xavi / Messi / Ronaldo are amazingly consistent players, and that's what puts them on a higher level than every other player.
