The highly rated 21-year old may be on his way out of Toulouse after his agent confirmed talks with Inter, Lyon and Liverpool, with developments expected next week


The agent for Toulouse midfielder Moussa Sissoko has revealed that his client is in negotiations with several top European clubs, including Inter, Lyon, Liverpool and Newcastle.

Sissoko is widely regarded as one of the most promising players in French football, and the 21-year old may be set for a high profile move away from Le Tefece after his agent confirmed to Goal.com that he expected a major development in transfer talks during Toulouse’s training camp in Luchon next week.

“The link with Lyon is serious, but it is not the only one,” said his agent. “There are also negotiations with Liverpool, Newcastle and Inter. Things should seriously move next week.”

However, opposition may come in the form of Toulouse president Olivier Sadran, who will reportedly not accept a bid of anything less than €15 million for his prized asset. And with two years left on his contract, Sissoko’s agent has refused to rule out the possibility of his client remaining with Toulouse if a transfer deal cannot be struck.

“His priority is a club with a major sporting project. But it will not pose a problem to Moussa [to remain with Toulouse].”

Sissoko, who is of Malian descent, has represented the French national team at all international level, and currently has three caps for the senior side.

If he goes to Newcastle I'll be incredibly happy Mole.

How would Sissoko fit in with Cabaye and Tiote?

Sissoko is such a versatile freak, he can play winger easily.

Lyon has been after him for a while, and having the france team in mind for the world cup, i think he is going there: guaranteed starting place, CL, exposure...

I dont know how serious Liverpool is about him, but i give Lyon as front runner for now.

I dont expect us to get Sissoko tho or Matuidi for that matter lol.

I think there is some rational behind an extra DM tbh.

1. Tiote is having to deal with too much defensive work as it stands which is shown by his card count
2. I think our defence barring Simpson is quite good individually
3. Tiote will be away for a month after that we pretty much have no specialist DM

Doubt we are in for him. We hav 9 CMs ATM as things stand

Unfortunately only 2 are adept at the Defensive Midfield role. And at least one isn't even adept at football in general.

ah thanks Red, i see im not the only one slightly concerned about the lack of "true DM".
(once raised that question when i asked if Henderson could play the Lucas role)

even tho its true "true DM" arnt always needed and teams can play beautiful football withouth them, but still..

Well not really we wont even get Matuidi

I'm not saying we will get him, or that we even should. I just think that of all the CMs, CAMs, and CDMs we've been linked with a CDM is the most logical choice to sign. We've got Aquilani, Meireles, Gerrard, Henderson, Shelvey, Lucas and Spearing who can play CM. We've got only Spearing and Lucas than can play CDM.

Will Sissoko be happy to be 2nd choice for us?

Well atleast we are looking for a new DM need someone to rotate with Lucas.

i dont think we're in for him tho.

imo his agent is just throwing many names in, (and ours probably because we were linked to him a few months ago) in order to pressure Lyon who are the most likely to buy him.

Sissoko is not a DM . He's a b2b midfielder.

LFC has no interest in him.

We're getting Adam to replace AA/Meireles. /facepalm

If we sign just one more (after Adam) CM / CDM / CAM, I'll simply give up trying to understand our plans.

The club (Lyon) issued a statement one week ago denying the rumors and saying that we will not make an offer for this player.

Honestly he is not worth 15 millions and I would rather see the club taking Capoue from Toulouse or trying to spend 15 millions on Martin.

He would be great at Gasperini's 3-4-3.
