I struggled to stay awake during the first England gameA Chinese football fan died after going 11 nights without sleep as he tried to watch every single kick of the ball of Euro 2012.
Jiang Xiaoshan, said to be supporting England and France in the tournament, died of exhaustion on Tuesday morning.
Because of the time difference, he reportedly stayed up each night with friends and then went to work the following day.

I agree, it is sad. However, it's very odd. Even combined with tobacco and alcohol use, that is a strange cause of death.

I'm sure you'd all be singing a different tune, if a nephew/niece, parent, cousin, or your future son/daughter, did something silly and paid with their life.
Deaths not funny. You can all laugh when its someone else, half way around the world, but when its at your doorstep, you won't be indifferent/amused.

I wasn't talking about you buddy.
Yes it could have been avoided, but as I said, I'm sure he thought he'd be ok, with no long term damages, after a few days back to his normal routine (i.e back to sleeping 9 hours a day).
It's always unfortunate when someone dies, people need to remember he's some ones son/father/brother/friend.
And for me, and I'm sure many others, losing a loved one (no matter the circumstances) is the worst thing in life.

There's been some really odd deaths happening lately though. Some girl in Switzerland died because she was living on sunlight and nothing else. No food, no water.
