The fax machine was a bit jaded. So we had Santos run the paperwork over to QPR since there is working well.

Not that anyone here would wanna see that, but still .....lol. you get my point.
It's Juve though....
there is everychance the game had been fixed by the ref and Celtic would get a 3-0 win.
I won't write this match off until 2016 at the earliest though

Arquitecto wrote:OP. 2/10. Must try harder.
Despite the utter dross written in the opening post, I will first give a degree of praise to Celtic. They were energetic in the first half, came out with a positive attitude and attempted to make something happen at home. Credit where it is due for their effort, however they lacked the necessarily guile to unlock a weakened Juventus back line.
Juventus, having taken an early lead, made the best choice they could have possibly made. To let Celtic expose themselves both offensively and defensively. They dropped their line to absorb pressure and exposed the predictable and ultimately clueless approach of a Celtic team that despite their efforts, had only one idea of how to get to goal, whilst also continually allowing Juventus the time they needed to set themselves for the repeated aerial bombardment. Only once during the entire match did Celtic actually fashion a chance they should have taken, a header from Ambrose, a meagre and disappointing return for a side that was allowed so much of the ball.
Once Celtic had tired, an inevitable consequence of their positive approach in the first half, the increased aggression from Juventus' wingbacks was notable, stretching a Celtic that had dropped in energy and belief during the second half and well complimented by the intelligent working of the channels by Marchisio.
Particularly disappointing though in this match on the whole was Vucinic, whose work rate was non-existent, communication with his team mates poor, touch and passion astray which hurt Juventus during the first half and I was personally surprised that he lasted as long as he did. Popped up with two good chances in the second, the final one of which he deserves credit for converting though, however Vucinic can offer so much more when on fire and this was a bad occasion for him to turn in one of his listless performances that have prevented him from being considered amongst the finest forwards in the league despite his considerable talent.
Marchisio was my man of the match, with a shout out to Padoin's cameo performance which exceeded my expectations for a modest player, however his pressure and commitment led to two goals. Lichsteiner vs Hooper in the penalty box for moment of the match. Licht is always good for a laugh. This forum is ridiculous. Quite obviously a shit load of people haven't watched Juventus under Conte.
The whole plan of this system is to absorb as much pressure as you can and capitalize on the oppositions mistakes in which Juventus did perfectly. Its called Cattenaccio. No Libero? Was anyone even watching Leo Bonnuci? Juventus' pseudo 5-3-2-? Juventus do this all the time under Conte in the first leg of a 2 legged tie followed by pure Conte attack in the 2nd.
-Did the same vs Milan in the 1st leg of last year in the Serie A. Guess what happened? Milan fell for the same trap and guess who scored a brace as well? Claudio Marchisio playing in his modified role scoring a brace vs Milan.
-Did it vs Napoli, Lazio, Roma and Napoli in the Super Coppa as well.
-Same blueprint. Marchisio in an advanced role, Vidal tracking the fullbacks. Bonnuci dropping deep and sweeping out from the midfield once the opposition is advanced. Same exact thing while Lennon obviously hasn't done his homework.
Bank of mistakes? Conte does this all the time vs sides who are bound to leave their post open with the consistent attack being eventually locked down open for serious tactical errors and exploitation opportunities left by the opposition. Celtic is so stupid they fell for the same exact trap that Shaktar, Chelsea (1st leg) and countless Italian teams did.
Has anyone even seen football pre-2000s? Anyone seen Enzo Bearzots Italia? Guess what happened? Used the same exact plan and won the god damn world cup.
What in the world were Celtic doing aside from crossing mindlessly into Buffon's hands?
How anyone can call this parking the bus is beyond me. Football is not dead. The classical chess like tactics of yesteryear certainly are being forgotten and not appreciated well enough.
Does anyone even see the scoreboard? 0-3 Juventus.
Massively underwhelmed by Celtic as I hope for them to be a little more tact.
Two detailed posts by Dosto and I on why this criticism is complete dross.
If ANYONE can prove these two post's wrong then I will send them a box of Pannetone straight to their doorstep.
Still waiting.

This doesn't surprise me the least bit as I'm the one who brought the conceptualization of Yohan's cybernetic control in the first place.
Thank you for finally bringing the proof ES.
