Despite the utter dross written in the opening post, I will first give a degree of praise to Celtic. They were energetic in the first half, came out with a positive attitude and attempted to make something happen at home. Juventus, having taken an early lead, made the best choice they could have possibly made. To let Celtic expose themselves both offensively and defensively. Once Celtic had tired, an inevitable consequence of their positive approach in the first half, the increased aggression from Juventus' wingbacks was notable, stretching a Celtic that had dropped in energy and belief during the second half and well complimented by the intelligent working of the channels by Marchisio.

Particularly disappointing though in this match on the whole was Vucinic, whose work rate was non-existent, communication with his team mates poor, touch and passion astray which hurt Juventus during the first half and I was personally surprised that he lasted as long as he did. Popped up with two good chances in the second, the final one of which he deserves credit for converting though, however Vucinic can offer so much more when on fire and this was a bad occasion for him to turn in one of his listless performances that have prevented him from being considered amongst the finest forwards in the league despite his considerable talent.

Marchisio was my man of the match, with a shout out to Padoin's cameo performance which exceeded my expectations for a modest player, however his pressure and commitment led to two goals. Lichsteiner vs Hooper in the penalty box for moment of the match. Licht is always good for a laugh.

This forum is ridiculous. Quite obviously a shit load of people haven't watched Juventus under Conte.

The whole plan of this system is to absorb as much pressure as you can and capitalize on the oppositions mistakes in which Juventus did perfectly. Its called Cattenaccio. No Libero? Was anyone even watching Leo Bonnuci? Juventus' pseudo 5-3-2-? Juventus do this all the time under Conte in the first leg of a 2 legged tie followed by pure Conte attack in the 2nd.

-Did the same vs Milan in the 1st leg of last year in the Serie A. Guess what happened? Milan fell for the same trap and guess who scored a brace as well? Claudio Marchisio playing in his modified role scoring a brace vs Milan.

-Did it vs Napoli, Lazio, Roma and Napoli in the Super Coppa as well.

-Same blueprint. Marchisio in an advanced role, Vidal tracking the fullbacks. Bonnuci dropping deep and sweeping out from the midfield once the opposition is advanced. Same exact thing while Lennon obviously hasn't done his homework.

Bank of mistakes? Conte does this all the time vs sides who are bound to leave their post open with the consistent attack being eventually locked down open for serious tactical errors and exploitation opportunities left by the opposition. Celtic is so stupid they fell for the same exact trap that Shaktar, Chelsea (1st leg) and countless Italian teams did.
