Re: Ronaldo doesn't perform for Portugal
You can only beat who is in front of you and Ronaldo did the job that he was required to and I'm happy for him, because his performances thus far warranted Ronaldo extracting something from this tournament. One match doesn't define his tendency to perform for his country, however he deserves credit where it's due. He doesn't need to perform as if he's going to win the Ballon D'Or every time he steps out onto the pitch to deserve praise and he doesn't deserve the Ballon D'Or for every goal he scores.
Portugal have a fantastic opportunity to reach the semifinals now and from there international tournaments can go anywhere and Ronaldo will have been a large part of this if it occurs. He doesn't require comparison to others for validation of his efforts.

That would actually make sense if they did'nt look worse than Carr-Boumsong-Bramble-Bernard in the other games as well.
Believe me i never thought the Grande Boumble partnership would ever be defeated in awfulness but it seems i have been proved wrong.
well in the first game they werent that bad defensively, nor in the second game apart from those early goals. .i dont think germany created anything much in the second half at all. so they cant be that abysmal can they?
though having said that ,despite how terrible van bommel was, he > vdv

It was definitely more than a "good" performance. Despite being more of an athlete than a footballer these days and the Dutch giving him the freedom of the park he took full advantage of it. Today was one of his best all round performances since he lost his dribbling ability all those years back.
van Marjwk though.
I mean playing VDV in CM ffs. Jesus ****** Christ
Sneijder should have been dropped ages ago along with flop of the tournament RVP & Willems.Huntelaar
Robben VDV Narsingh
Strootman NDJ/MVB
PVA Vlaar Bruma VDW
Vorm
Much more balanced & team oriented side without gloryhunting pricks like Sneijder in there.
should give up playing for the dutch and should play for us instead..

I assume this is aimed at me no? i did'nt put down Ronaldo's performance i thought it was great tbh, but i dont think the defence was anything better than what Messi faced...... which is what i argued against.
Both defences were very poor, but both Ronaldo and Messi took advantage of it and should be give credit for doing so.

Looks like 'para ti' to me. 'To you'. Seems odd to send Messi a kiss
I'm not that good lipreader anyway, any of the two is possible imo.

Re: Ronaldo doesn't perform for Portugal
This is tied with the Atletico game for the best performance I've seen from him since he joined Madrid.
The control turn and volley that hit the post in the first half was almost a god goal.

Re: Ronaldo doesn't perform for Portugal
Must be so hard for some people to really see Cristiano perform well. It's ok, Messi is still the better footballer and would probably stay that way for a while.
In the meantime, do look forward to his performance in the Semis, I'm sure he won't disappoint...
