Group A: Greece vs Russia discussion

Greece need to win if they want to reach the next stage. But Russia have been far more convincing and they should have enough skill to take at least a point from this one.

Russia will destroy Greece. 3-4 goal win in this one imo.

i doupt with our stubborn coach that we will be creative, since he too doesnt trust youngsters

but im 99% sure are CBs can handle russia, ( papadopoulos - sokratis )
in defence all im afraid of is our left flank since our left back is weak

anyway its football anything can happen so i believe!

Yeh it's on BBC3.

Greece by all rights have been hard done by in this tournament, they had a wrongfully sending off to their best centre back, a pen saved & a goal disallowed.

In a different tournament with the heart they've played with they could be among the top of this group, with a very good chance of qualifying now.

I don't expect Russia to batter them, who knows maybe they will but I expect a tight game here.

When you look at a team and you can understand their best characteristic is the defence ; and you play a 4-3-3 ... everything would go and went wrong so far.

Don't want to drag this , it's mainly due to our coach we suck that much in this Euro . I know we aren't the super team obviously, but i know almost all of these players really well .

They would have done so much more with a proper coach , instead of this one who instructs players to hoof the ball after they get past the middle line of the field..

It's true we ve been very unlucky , but that's not the main reason we might be out of the competition by tonight.

I ll just repeat what a friend of mine said some days ago outside a cinema :

" If that's a thriller , then they haven't seen the NT play " .

Got to say , beside being funny it was also true. The coach's methods and ideas are archaic and his choices on players in the 11 are even worse. Despite some very hard calls for us to swallow , it's because of tactics and coach faults we won't qualifiy.

Indeed.. Ninis wasn't bad at all actually. He just tried to create stuff on his own , with no real help most of the time. He subbed him in half time against Poland but kept Samaras , Chalkias and Holebas in.. mind blowing stuff. Ninis got "punished" because he tried to play , football...

Ok , here's what i am talking about Santos being catastrophic for Greece.

Tzavellas is a left back. Santos playing him CB , despite Papastathopoulos being able to play again.
Papastathopoulos is a pure CB , he's playing him as DM.
Maniatis played his best games as a DM , mediocre at RB , he's playing him RB.
Katsouranis is the best Greek DM we have, he's playing him CM.
Karagounis is too old now for 3-man-midfield to keep up with the rythm and pace it requires.
Samaras is worthless of being a NT player , he's starting him each and every game.
Gekas is on Torres mode this season , Mitroglou who had his best season is benched by Santos.

If we concede 3 or less goals against Russia , i will consider it a victory
