Re: What has become of the mighty milan?
If Milan end do end up selling TS and Big Nose that itself should bring in at least 75 maybe 80 M.If Milan invest 2/3 of that wisely they'll be grand me thinks.

Milan is a popular holiday destination during off season.
Borriello is probably just on holiday.
If a photo of him was taken with Galliani outside Via Turati... different story
Mystique, you ain't Vibe mate

Re: What has become of the mighty milan?
Liverpool's current situation is nothing like Milan's. Period. "Rebuilding" is a very vast tag and covers any number of significantly varying stages of a club's process. Liverpool's and Milan's situations, while both potentially being classified as rebuilding, are utterly and completely different.vanDEEZ wrote:RedOranje wrote:Someone has no understanding of Liverpool's current/previous situation.vanDEEZ wrote:this reminds me a lot of liverpool.. lol

Anyway, the reason for the decline is very simple, lack of interest/investement from the owners. just look how Inter went from world beaters to EL in 2 years for he same reason and it wouldnt be much of a surprise:{Mr.Mustachio! wrote:halamadrid2 wrote:only a good striker will cost you around 30 mill, and then if they want to get average players and pay on instalments or get free agents then lmfao
Well if you look at our key signings at the start of last season Pirlo (free), Vidal (€10.5), Lichtsteiner (€10), Vucinic (€15) then the €40-50 for TS and whatever they get for Ibra the money is surely there to build something solid?
Milan have quality players we don't, TS and Ibra are absolute match winners and while I'm not looking to pick a fight the rest of the side doesn't match up to them. Call me crazy but even in selling one of their best players (let's wait and see what Ibra decides) does not necessarily mean that the only way is down. Spent in the right areas I think as a team overall they could even improve.
Not an expert on the financial situation at the Italian clubs....but does the match fixing thing have anything to do with the trend? So why is it that Milan struggle so bad with owner and others not interested to invest in such a big name? But Juve is able to? And isnt Inter always rich enough cos of Moratti's financial strength?
The match fixing scandals are not the primary reason for this decline but Serie A as a whole lost tons of reputation and potential investments due to this. Juvi's ability to compete comes from the fact that they have the biggest fan base in italy and they now own their own stadium. They also have an owner who is being generous these days and when they dont have any washed up dead wood that cost millions in salaries like Inter and Milan.
I see... and read up back previous page just now, and know whats going on finally.... just goes to show how things can change so drastically.... and that football cycles continues, clubs go up and down over long periods of time.... its really strange though still to see how Inter become so bad due to so many bad decisions, Milan is probably less about bad decisions but due to other factors but still....
Oh well, pretty sad, so I guess its Juve to dominate in the next few years? Meh I dont really like Juve or their football style.... Milan and Inter are always ore attractive and entertaining

Re: What has become of the mighty milan?
Liverpool has very wealthy owners who are willing to spend. HOWEVER, i know the Liverpool modus operandi very well as i followed the Red Sox when Henry's group bought them: They will spend and spend big. But they will not do so if there isn't a business model behind it. He's very much of the same philosophy as Stan Kroenke of Arsenal. Liverpool is an investment... not a passion or a toy.

I explain much earlier in the thread on how we managed to get our wages so high, but basically its due to the fact that we were cash strapped and thus the only way to get players was to offer higher wages, thus we had an influx of bosman transfers it finally caught up to us. Galliani is partly to blame for this because he offered more than that was required, still we have been in a bad spot for a while now.

When you figure that player depreciation/amortization is a fiddle (it is maximized to lower taxes), Berlusconi is spending peanuts.
