New Villarreal CF manager Manuel Preciado passes away

Reports coming out from Spain that he passed away after a Heart Attack

He was only just Appointed the new Manager yesterday

So devastated by this.

It had been tough years for him as in around 2002 his wife passed away, 2 years later his son passed away, last year his father passed away after being run over and now Manolo himself does.

Very tragic news as I always liked Manolo and his managing style.

Due to his contribution to the Liga, I hope he gets the tribute he deserves.

Only 54, far too young, it's really quite shocking, my thoughts are with his remaining loved ones.

OMG, Manolo Preciado???? He was the Sporting coach who beat or tied Mourinho after Mou had said that teams like Gijon give Barca the title. But like Arq posted, I remember reading a while back his bio and he had tragically lost much of his immediate family so soon. He seemed like a classy, and very intelligent coach and I enjoyed watching his sides play. Such a huge loss to the football world, and I'm sure to all those who knew him personally. Rest in Peace Manolo.

Very sad news, seemed to be a fantastic bloke aswell as a good coach/manager.... no coincidence IMO that Sporting started going down fast when he was ( wrongly imo) sacked and lets not forget he broke Mourinho's long standing home record.

Was genuinely interested to see how he was going to do at Villarreal and this happens.... life is not fair sometimes.

Sporting lost its balls once he left. He always said how he felt not many guys left like that in football.

I was so sad to see this news, Preciado was a fantastic character and was loved by all. I was truly looking forward to seeing him coach Villarreal next season. What a shame, he has been so terribly unlucky throughout all his life.

he died of a heart attack.
He did alot of things, he just had given up smoking, he was a massive chain smoker. He had a heart problem during his final year at Sporting that landed him in hospital.

but this is very very sad news, he was a great coach.... 5 promotions with 5 different clubs and well loved by all of them
