What are your views on Chelsea's squad with Hazard and Hulk joining?

As said in the other thread, sounds very nice on paper but if you want to make best use of that front 4, you need to play offensively and progressively.

To do that in the biggest games means exposing the defence and having them deal with things with less help.

We already saw how that worked for Chelsea, it didnt go very well.

The reason they were so defensively stable in the CL semi and final was they were defending with 10 players in their own half (unlike Napoli first leg, Benfica and various other games they looked much more frail). Your going to have Hazard, Mata and Hulk do that? I somehow dont think it will go well if you did.

Very nice on paper yea, but it will take alot of time to get it fully working. Not easy to get a good attacking fluidity and cooperation from Mata, Hulk and Hazard. Time will tell, it could be a big mistake.

Chelsea will need more DM's capable of recovering the ball and feed their Attackers and Defend better as a whole.

That's the only way I can see Chelsea using those players.

I think they should re-hire AVB lol.

They should go for Cabaye. He's a beast.

That's because AVB was playing such a high line that saw defenders like JT(who is slow as frak these days) at the half way line. No way he recovers in time to stop pacy forwards. Not even Luiz could.

RDM's offensive tactics does not have such a high line.

Depends on if they want to play those three along with Ramiers and Lampard. They could be ok Defensively if they played Mikel Obi + and a defensively capable CM.

But trying to play Hulk, Hazard, Mata, Torres, Lampard and Ramies is going to be interesting to watch on defense.

If we do get Hulk,it looks like 4-2-3-1 will continue to be our formation,with Hulk,Hazard,Mata and Torres as the 4 attackers.

It's kind of hurting my head trying to think who will be the 2 in midfield.We've got Mikel,Lampard,Ramires,Meireles and Romeu(assuming Essien leaves).

Said it before its not easy to buy players from us.... anyone who thinks they are getting Cabaye for less than 25m is smoking some fine shit.....

Madrid have defensive problems of their own, that with mobile guys like Pepe, Ramos and Marcelo.

There is nothing wrong with a high line, however, you have to put pressure so passes in behind are not easy.

Also, what you put doesnt really argue my point. Fact is, to play with that many offensive players to their best capability, the defence is going to be more exposed than it was vs Barca or Bayern..and even in those games chances were conceded.

Not here to poor cold water on your hopes, just saying, to have 4 offensive players playing in such a system is pointless if your going to play the same way you did in those games.

More likely, you will open up and again, thats where defenders like Terry, Ivanovic and co have to cover more ground individually.

I believe most attacks would be on the counter due to the pace these guys offer. But Lampard + Ramires( in rotation with Mikel and Raul) is a good enough DM couple to create enough trouble offensively.

ramires should get benched and used as a winger against teams that will have more possession.lampard-mikel is the way to go

Ramires needs to play imo, having Hulk and Hazard offers a lot more rotation and strength off the bench especially when we can chuck in Marin to the equation.

If we don't sign Hulk I saw a 433 with Lampard Mikel/Romeu and Rambo in midfield and a christmas tree with Hazard and Mata able to float around, for me Hulk just makes things more complicated but when it's tough because you have too much talent thats a good thing imo.

There needs to be an improvement in the DM to get it to work to its full potential. Someone who can just make better passes to get these guys going and make everything more fluid. Even if it is just one player. Will be insane if it all comes together.

Hazard will play ST from winter because Torres will score 2 goals in 20 games maybe.

They will go back to Mikel-Ramires-Lampard-Merieles against Top teams with Hazard & Hulk at Top. Add Mata if they want to attack.

Torres wont cut it. Should be good buys. But There is no Midfield General with fantastic creativity & a defensive steel. Should hurt that.
