Speaking to Abendzeitung Munchen in Doha, where the Bavarians are currently on a training camp, the Borussia Monchengladbach legend has revealed his admiration for the 17-year-old and claims that the starlet has a bright future ahead of him.
"He's very talented, but he still has much to learn. Between what he is accustomed to and what we do here, they are different worlds," commented Heynckes.
"[Can has] great potential. If he is willing to learn, then he can make his way. As a young player today, you have to be obsessed with football."
Can currently plays for Bayern Munich's reserve side in Regionalliga Sud, and has made 13 appearances in the fourth tier of German football.
In addition, he captained Germany at the Under-17 World Cup and Under-17 European Championship in 2011.
---
So who else wants him to break into the first team? The few times I've seen him play he's impressed me, and is highly rated amongst most people. I'd like for him to be loaned a while to polish up. It's going to be hard to break into the first team since Alaba plays the same position, but he's just as talented IMO.

Re: Former Player: Emre Can
Bayern have bunch of good young players.
FC Bayern München II may be 12th in the Regionalliga Süd table, but Emre Can has a special statistic of his own: in the last 6 matches in which Emre Can played, FC Bayern II have won 5 and drew 1, scoring 16 goals and conceding only 5 goals in the process.

Re: Former Player: Emre Can
I saw him in the U17 World Cup. Great talent indeed. I think they should build him up carefully so that they don't burn him up by playing him too early in the first team. If they handle him with care, they have a new jewel in their team.

Emre Can (Bayern's newest boss CM)
He's being moved up next season. Basically a Kroos/Schweini hybrid. Can't wait to see this kid play with the big boys....

on FM I got him but there is not way for him to break in first team in my udine:
He's got Veratti,Lamela,Vass,Luis Alberto, Deniz Naki,Torje, plsu the new coming in midfield
Adam Vass,Veratti,Lamela are untouchable in midfield they light serie A on fire for me

Re: Former Player: Emre Can
Was really impressed by him at the youth-world cup. Was it world cup? Or am I thinking of the Euros? Sorry, with youth levels I usually just remember the players but get confused about whether I'm watching u17, u19, u21, WC or Euros... :X
But him... Can and Yesil, both great prospects. And not only them, a good couple of players from that side looked great.

Re: Former Player: Emre Can
He still needs 2 season long loan with Hoffenheim, plus I heard he can also play as CB and AM.

Re: Former Player: Emre Can
It was the U17 World Cup in Mexico. I watched most of the matches and was really impressed, too. Can and Yesil were the standout players of the German team.VivaStPauli wrote:Was really impressed by him at the youth-world cup. Was it world cup? Or am I thinking of the Euros? Re: Former Player: Emre Can
Emre Can signed a 4-year contract till 2017, but Bayern secured themselves a buy-back option. The fee of that option is undisclosed.
Should be a win-win situation for all. Emre Can gets playing time (even in the CL), Leverkusen gets a promising prospect and Bayern could get him back, although it might very well be that he stays with Leverkusen as Bayern are stacked in his position. Leverkusen is a top address for a young player to develop, they took good care of Toni Kroos before, too.

Re: Former Player: Emre Can
According to transfermarkt.de, the transfer fee for Emre Can is listed as 6 mio Euros.
Rumours say the buy-back option is in the range of 8 mio Euros after 13/14 up to 12 mio Euros after 15/16. This is pure speculation, though.

FM legend
Hopefully he can do well there, but it would not surprise me if he did bad like some youth players that had an advantage with there physical attributes over other players there age.

So how good is he? I've never really seen him play except when I was scouting Yesil back in the day for Germany's U19 and recently against PSG in CL. Wasn't that impressive or anything.

Re: Former Player: Emre Can
Well, he is an average to good young DM who is flexible enough to play as LB and CM, too. I guess he still has room to develop, but I doubt he will become a super star. When I saw him at Bayern, he made one or the other mistake that was probably due to his youth, and he was sent to Bayer so that he'd have the proper stage to develop. AFAIK Bayern have a buy-back option that they can use yearly.
