Europa League 2012-13
- Inter
- Napoli
- Liverpool
- Tottenham
- At. Madrid
- At. Bilbao
- Lyon
- Bayer
- Lazio
- NewCastle
and Anzhi (Eto'o)
+ lots of quality teams coming from CL play-offs and groupstage 3rd places...
if all these teams, specially Inter, Napoli, Lazio, Spurs, and Liverpool take it seriously this could be a hell of a competition next season.
I had like to see an Italian final (Napoli vs Inter) next season, It's more than possible with the quality of Napoli and Inter, but if not an Italian final, then these finals would be juicy as well:
Liverpool vs Inter = winner becomes most succesful team in the history of the competition. Both Inter and Liverpool, together with Juve, have 3 trophies each.
Spurs - Inter (rematch of 2 years ago's fantastic games both in the San Siro and the Lane)
Napoli vs Athletic Bilbao = this had be a feast for the eyes. no doubt
together with Napoli vs Inter, those would be my dream finals.
Favourites imo (at this moment):
1. Atletico
2. Bilbao
3. Liverpool
4. Bayer
5. Lyon
6. Newcastle
7. Napoli
8. Inter
9. Lazio
10. Tottenham
reason why Spurs and the italians are so low in the list, is because i am afraid they don't really consider the compitition worthy enough to go deep. these teams wants CL at all costs, specially Spurs who lost out this season dispite a 4th place finish, and Inter who can't afford to miss out on CL next season, but i'd love them to fight for this title. for Inter, italy needs coefficients. they have the squad to win/walk through the competition, but they probably will exit in groupstage.

I dont think Inter have the quality to walk throw the competition.
They finished 6th in serie A for a reason.
Big name=!quality.

Re: Europa League 2012-13
That's true.
Only way we'll take this serious if we get an experienced manager that knows what he's doing though. It'll be too much work for an inexperienced manager like Martinez who only knows how to fight for relegation in the PL to target two objectives with top four being the main goal.

Well, Hannover 96 made it in to the EL qualification again. I hope they will manage to show the same fighting spirit as in the 2011/12 season.
The other two German teams, VfB Stuttgart and Bayer Leverkusen shouldn't be too easy to beat either if they pull themselves together.

Lack of quality isn't why we finished 6th, though..

Could be some tasty matches in that competition. But it's also a lot of games for teams who will have bigger domestic priorities, so we'll see who take it seriously and who don't.

Re: Europa League 2012-13
To be fair, prize money for Winning FA cup,Copa Del rey and coppa italia is lower than 8 million.
So are teams actually taking those competition seriously too?
One reason they arent going for Europa league is because it is alot tougher to win than your domestic cups but not enough prize money for the effort.
