Pogba Negotiations Advance
Juventus general director Giuseppe Marotta has claimed the Serie A champions are on the brink of signing teenage midfielder Paul Pogba from Manchester United.
The Frenchman's future had been up in the air for months but after lengthy talks he appears to have finally decided against extending his deal at Old Trafford, with his current contract set to expire this summer.
Marotta says discussions are in the advanced stages, with Juve waiting on an answer from the 19-year-old.
"We have lured him away from Manchester United," he told Corriere dello Sport.
"We respected the rules. Pogba, for his own reasons, didn't intend to renew. We informed the club and we are now waiting for an answer. Talks are well advanced."
Juventus have also been linked with moves for Manchester City youngster Mario Balotelli and Napoli's Edinson Cavani this summer, but Marotta has played down such reports.
"We have never thought about Balotelli. He doesn't fit the profile we are looking at, a profile which isn't based solely on technical ability," he added.
"Cavani? You always have to consider the wishes of the clubs which own the players."
