If only you were Greek and listened to the players commenting after the draws…

I don't understand, it's been this way for most of my lifetime. Maybe getting on for 20 years ago we were the most feared, But are you telling me that Greek sides would've preffered Real Madrid or United to a Italian side in the past? Seriously?
I remember every year in the early 00's it was Real this, Real that. The hype was similar to that for the modern Barcelona; Galactico's, Unbeatable and all that Jazz...Every year they were automatic favourites!
Prior to us beating (rather, destroying) Olympiakos in 03/04 they were probably overjoyed they had drawn Juventus and not one of the big English or Spanish sides...
We have a enviable record against Madrid, but seriously now, not once do I remember us going into a clash as favourites.
People simply don't rate Italian sides like the top English and Spanish sides and I don't think that's something that has happened suddenly post 2006. Our reputation may have dropped substantially, but as I remember it I don't think it was as high as everyone makes out in the first place.

Inter and AC Milan fans probably have a different take, but as a Juve fan that's how it always seemed.

Re: Why Serie A > La Liga > EPL
let me clarify. I am talking about the years past calciopoli.
As an example check Panathinaikos against Inter and against Barca or Man U and you will figure out why this how they feel.
P.S. don't bring the 7-0 again!!! I'm an Olympiakos fan and I still remember it.
You were missing many regulars as well and we only mannage to loose seven nill

Haha, I suspected as much so I wasn't going to say, but it was practically our B team
Still I get that poor showings from Italian sides against many different clubs have probably made us a nicer prospect than the big Spanish and English sides, but I'm just not sure we were ever as frightening anyway.

Re: Why Serie A > La Liga > EPL
I was always afraid of Juve pre 2006.
Trez, Nedved, ADP, Camo, Zambro, Buffon, Thuram etc.. In their prime/On form.
+ we also faced the one with Ibra in it.
That's an unbelievable squad to have..
But now? meh.

Serie A is the best!
Why?
It's the only big league that where two club's own the same player

Actually, all FIGC-run leagues can co-own a player
