Re: The Catalans vs The Basques
Would you claim Inter won UCL in 09-10?BhritanniaBhlue wrote:Definitely looks like a sextuple, and then nothing (so far) for me
I would never claim Inter won 3 titles last year because we won the Italian SuperCup and CWC... those were a continuation of the previous season, the Coppa Italia was our only trophy last season

Exactly my sentiment. And as I wrote in my first post on the topic. I consider the sextuple a sextuple. But our dear friend Jiopsi is trying to bend it both ways since he both want the sextuple as well as claiming that Messi won 4 (potentially) titles this season. And when I dispute that he can have it both ways I'm pointed out as the illogical one... All while trying to make up things like "well there is no definition of a sextuple" and then trying to create a new definition separate from the on going discussion on what season a certain title belongs to. Which he views as a complete separate discussion somehow.

Re: The Catalans vs The Basques
The Club World Cup and Super Cups don't really count as "major" trophies in my opinion, or Rafael Benitez would have been one of the most successful managers at Inter. They are just trophies to pad up your trophy count, I rate them below the Champions League, the national League and the national cup.

Any tournament that ends within the same year should be catigorized as that season's tournament, IMO.
Basques to take it, IMO.

The sectuple belongs to the calendar year of 2009. Not a season. At the same time, Barca have won three trophies this year. Yes, they are all completely useless and Mickey Mouse etc, but they are trophies. If we won a CWC I would most certainly count it as a trophy.

In the 2009-10 season Inter won Serie A, CL, Coppa Italia, Italian Supercup, CWC - as far as I'm concerned
Edit: To be clear
In the 2010-11 season Inter won Coppa Italia...thats it

- When you qualify to Supercup, Uefa Supercup and FCWC, and which are played between next seasons games, directly affecting other competitions in that season, are they considered to be last season games?
- But when you qualify to UCL which is played between next seasons games, directly affecting other competitions in that season, it is considered to be part of that season?
For me that is illogical.

Re: The Catalans vs The Basques
Yes because to enter these competitions you have the be the champion on the previous one and its always harder to to win in UCL, CDR or La liga rather than CWC or Supercup.jiopsi wrote:So lets summarize:BhritanniaBhlue wrote:jiopsi wrote:Would you claim Inter won UCL in 09-10?BhritanniaBhlue wrote:Definitely looks like a sextuple, and then nothing (so far) for me

Thats fine, I'm not exactly the trophy-police here...I'm just stating my personal opinion
If you think all trophies should be counted when they are won, thats fine..
But I do agree with PBW...you can't have it both ways

Re: The Catalans vs The Basques
To enter UCL you have to be a champion of a league, or in top 3-4 of top leagues, or a champion of UCL like Chelsea this season. Yes they are harder to win, but you can't quantify level of difficulty, and just say CDR is hard enough, and FCWC isn't.Nameless wrote:Yes because to enter these competitions you have the be the champion on the previous one and its always harder to to win in UCL, CDR or La liga rather than CWC or Supercup.jiopsi wrote:So lets summarize:BhritanniaBhlue wrote:jiopsi wrote:Would you claim Inter won UCL in 09-10?BhritanniaBhlue wrote:Definitely looks like a sextuple, and then nothing (so far) for me

"Yall are LIKE children" ???
Could've swore they ARE children.
Anywho, Athletic Bilbao will want to redeem themselves after that horror show in the EC Final against Atletico Madrid. Blood Sweat n Tears. Bilbao scrapes a win.

Spanish Supercopa, European Supercup, Club World Cup. Three.
By year, I meant season

Jiopsi has that effect on people. He's single handedly derailed every thread he has ever posted in lol
Anyway should be a great game, really hoping for a repeat of the San Mames game which was one of the games of the season for me.
Aupa Athletic for obvious reasons
Here's hoping Barca have zeru tituli in the calender year 2012

Re: The Catalans vs The Basques
Glad to be back on topic.
Hope Bilbao wins this one. They may want to avenge the EL loss against the almighty Falcao.
As for Bilbao fans, they may want to get a map to get to the Mestalla or clean their ears.

Both teams fighting to redeem their poor end of the season.
Titilona to win it. Hopefully by a small margin though, anything more than 2 goals could crush The Basque's fragile state of mind after the EL Final.

Bilbao deserve it too, plus it would mean more to Athletic.
The final will be at the Calderon I think.
