What will it be? A title for the energized Atheltic Club and Zeru Tituli for Barca or will it be business as usual for guardiolas men?

Just to clarify, Barcelona has a CWC title to their name so it isn't "zero tituli" for them. And no, I don't count the Super Cups as credible titles...

It won't be a walk in the park for Barcelona either .

Having said that , it's so difficult not to predict Barcelona after so many finals won in the last 4 years . Combine the Del Rey is the only title Barcelona are still in and Pep's last match with Barcelona and the Cules have 2 big addiotional motives to win this final . Also , Messi .

But Doc if CWC counted towards the season it is won in, how did barca win a sextuple in that one season?

I seem to be always confused by this

Yuri, I always assumed the sextuple wasn't for the season but for winning six trophies within the space of one year. The CWC would count as this season as it is won within the context of this season.

I've always considered the supercups and CWC as a part of the past season and not the new one.

So in my opinion, Barcas sextuple was legit. While Barca this season have zero titles so far.

But isnt CWC just a supercup of different organizations? I mean there isnt even group stages or points

With that logic there have never been multiple seasons played anywhere. The 2011-12 La Liga season is part of the 2010-11 season since the teams qualified during that season...



Either way, you can't have it both ways. If you consider the CWC and Spanish Supercup that Barcelona won last year part of the 2011-12 season. Then you don't consider what Barca did in 08-09 as a sixtuple. A real sixtuple in that case would be: Winning CWC, European Supercup and national Supercup and then later during the next spring winning the league, cup and CL.

Meaning you would have to win a consecutive CL and League to be able to complete it.

The sextuple was won within a year, so it is a yearly sextuple. Supercopa, European Super Cup and Fifa Club World Cup were played this season and directly affects other competitions during this season, not last season. So it's rather logical to say they are played in a season they are played.

It's a straight question: Either Barca won a sextuple in 2008-09 while they didn't win any titles in 2011-12 (yet). Or they didn't win a sextuple in 2008-09, but won two titles in 2011-12. How do you want it?

Barca didn't win sextuple in 2008-2009, and they have 3 titles already this season, 2011-2012. However Barca won 6 titles in year 2009.

A sextuple would mean you won all the competitions you qualified for in that season.
So can't really say whether we won anything this season as they were related to the competitions last season.

Ok, so no sextuple then without making up new ways of seeing it like "well yeah it was 6 titles in 2009".

A real sextuple should thus be:

Winning the CL and League/Cup to qualify for all the supercups for next season in season X and then winning those supercups in season y while also winning a treble later during the season.

Do every other cule agree with this assessment?

Also I know this is important for you jiopsi, because one part of you want to claim the sextuple. But another part of you want it to be "Messi won 4 titles in 2011-12 while Ronaldo won 1".

2008-2009 goes as a campaign, I understand that some of trophies are won at later times because of scheduling but they all go to prev. competitions like the CWC to UCL and supercups to CDR.

I would never claim Inter won 3 titles last year because we won the Italian SuperCup and CWC... those were a continuation of the previous season, the Coppa Italia was our only trophy last season
