and people say madrid fans are fickle- at least when players leave we dont black list them (except of course they go to barcelona)

He'll leave but you'll make a better team out of it by improving in other positions.

No need to turn your back at him. He's been at the club during dark years of your club and still played with his heart and did tremendously well considering he carried you guys last season. All players want to win trophies, that's all they're remembered for at the end of the day. If he still hasn't negotiated finances it's simply because Arsene has told him he ain't going to title challenge or go for any cups.

Still a class player, and I doubt he has the disrespect to leave to a rivalry club. Even though I want him at LFC.

Like I said in Arsenal section, his statement was wrong timing and can be considered dick move. So what if he's determined to leave, we the fans & the club are kinda prepared for it, but then just shut your mouth. I mean even the club was surprised by how soon he came out. Now all other clubs can play hard ball with us all days long and eventually he will leave as he wish for peanuts.

Madrid players leave because they don't have enough playing time or not wanted, totally different. If Ronaldo leaves tomorrow for Barcelona citing ambition, GL shit storm ensured.

It's the start of the window. Wenger has now 2 months to replace him.

Thing is Wenger already replaced him with Giroud and Podolski so it's matter of selling him for good money and use it to enforce other areas. His statement just significantly lower that "good money" for Arsenal.

This so thread is fickle as it is. What do you think the fans of Lille or Köln felt like when Podolski or Gervinho was departing?

Yes, they got betrayed by Podolski because he spent 8 years partially on the treatment table and when he performed exceptionally for a season he demanded a move.

i don't see much of a problem with RVP deciding to move on. Players have been very loyal to Arsenal only to be offered 1 year contracts when they hit 30. If RVP wants to leave for trophies and money, i see no issue with it.
