Should he stay or leave ?
Re: Van Persie's moment of truth is close
Look, some Arsenal fans may be letting there feelings get in the way but you have to understand that all of the things you guys are saying about him he knows way better then you do.
He knows he's had an injury plagued career, he knows he's never won much, He knows he's been thought to have an attitude since he was young etc etc.
And then bang, in the most important season of his personal career he manages to stay healthy and have the best season he's ever had, wins the golden boot in the EPL, was the best player in the EPl and helped drag them into the CL and into 3rd not 4th where they wouldn't have made it in hind sight.
He looks like a world class player and all right at the perfect time in his contract. This happens all the time in the NFL and NBA by the way there's even a saying for it over here to be weary of a player who has a great season in a contract year.
Plus he's almost 30. HE want's to get paid and FWIW will probably get a contract worth more then he's worth but that's business. All of us on here would do it to. IF you could make 90k a week or 200k a week and maybe even win some trophies as well it's a pretty easy decision.
This is his last pay day he will get and with the shocking numbers of athletes who are broke 5 years after they leave the game you can't blame the guy for getting what's best for him. It's like this in every business around the world. And BTW the difference in a 5 year contract is
There are positives and negatives to Arsenal's wage structure this is a negative but maybe your not paying a 30 year old injury prone player who's had one incredible year 200k a week for 5 years and this could turn into a positive.
BTW, for those of you saying he should be loyal blah blah blah the difference in pay is 6 million a year and 30 million over a 5 year contract. That's not peanuts. It's a pretty easy choice especially for a guy who lucked out and knows he got lucky and had the season of his dreams at the exact right time in his life and it erased all the negatives about him for now.

Trolling?
Only in Arsenal fan minds Podolski, Giroud, Walcott, Song, Coquelin, Chamerblain compare to Van Persie, Rooney, Silva, Toure, Lampard, Tevez, Nani.

I agree, footballers have a shorter working life span than the normal person too. They have trained themselves for it daily to get to where they are today, but IMO I think he would have stayed if the board showed more ambition etc.

Why is Van Persie on the other end of that sentence? Is he still not an Arsenal player?

Oh, and to even insinuate that Tottenham are in the same bracket as Manchester United, you have to either be trolling, or a complete retard

I said on the Arsenal topic that Giroud and Podoslki were B+ players while RVP was A+ and arsenal fans disagreed.

Excellent news, Arsenal is mid-table at best without RVP. And I'm quite certain that they'll sell him this summer, even though they said they wouldn't, even if he didn't extend his contract. But in the end, Wenger and Gazides simply can't resist the money. If someone offers 25-30 million he's gone. If he leaves they have a big problem in my opinion. Podolski was the worst German player of the European Championship imo and Giroud seems to have been bought as cover for RVP, not as his replacement. Apart from that the rest of their team is shocking. Midfield sucks (Wilshere I rate, but he's still young and can't be relied upon), in defence I rate Sagna, Vermaelen and Koscielny, but the rest is awful. Sczcesney isn't consistent enough, that needs time. I can easily see them missing out on a top four finish next season. You can't just sell Fabregas and van Persie and expect your team to perform as well as it has always done. Last year they were very lucky that van Persie put in fantastic performances, but they were actually supposed to be a lot lower in the competition, where it not for RVP. Imagine if van Persie was injured last season and they had to play with Chamakh as their first-choice striker. I think they would have ended eight or something like that in the competition if that was the case.

So will Arsenal replace RVP if (he leaves) with the money they get or use Giroud as a starter?

He's getting on, he needs to be winning things or competing for the top trophies, ie CL and Prem. He wasn't gonna get that at Arsenal.
He made the right decision imo.

really, come on. distance your self from the situation a bit- put yourself in his shoes. you really think he doesnt have enough money?
hes an ambitious footballer who wants to win trophies. the issue is that players like cesc, nasri, and rvp were promised that arsenal would bring quality players in..
podolski, and gervinho just dont cut it. they are NOT the same level that rvp is at.
so arsenal fans continue to be bitter about players leaving but its not going to stop until they buy actual quality players. continue saying that players are leaving only for money when they go on to win big trophies.
if arsenal actually was battling for CL league title and FA cup can you honestly say rvp would be leaving?

As an Aresenal fan i'm glad.I know he is a great player and i wish him the best wherever he goes. But if he doesn't wan't to stay at the club then let him go, at least this way he wont have a poor season and we get nothing for him.I'm sure there are many more players that want to play for Arsenal, so why get held up on someone that doesn't?

More like, played for 2 1/2 seasons, out for 6, yet we were still paying the dudes wages and Wenger still kept faith in him despite his horrible fitness and attitude problems.

So, ended up not getting any tonight (she had to finish off coursework) and........nope, i still couldn't give a f*ck about this
Thank you RVP for putting Terry on his knees. Thank you RVP for that smile towards Krul. Thank you RVP for that injury time winner against 'Pool. Thank you RVP for that equalizer against Barcelona. Thank you RVP for what you did for us last season, helping us secure 3rd and, once again, finishing above Scum
Now bugger off
