2011/2012: End of Season Review and Awards

The review of the season will be up at a later time. For the time being, we have some "awards" - for lack of a better term - to hand out. You may recall that we did this last time, where we made nominations and then voted on them. We'll be doing this again.

Worse moment of the season: Game against Yanited, i saw there and took that loss like a man....din't change the channel or anything

Cult hero: This is a tough one as well between Fatso or Benayoon , both likeable characters and have contributed well this season despite my doubts about their ability. Benayoon edges it, he has been massive for us especially when were going through a rough patch.

Underpeformer of the Season- Ramsey, harsh but he really set the bar high in his first full season 2 years ago and alot more was expected this year

Most Improved Players- Koscielny, was good last year, but took a huge jump this year

Game of the Season- Chelsea (A) >> dreadful defending, but PURE entertainment

Goal of the Season- Van Persie 2nd vs Liverpool (A) for signficance. Maintained our run back into the CL spot race.

Best Moment of the Season- Titi's return and goal vs Leeds

Worst Moment of the Season- Drubbing at Old Trafford

"Cult Hero"- Van Persie, I think he truly represents the club with such honour that the fans appreciate, worship and accept him as the true leader of the team. Hugely influential within the dressing room, and he's the true captain and committed figure we've been lacking for years.

Underpeformer of the Season: Park. Yeah, he didn't play, but didn't prove he was good enough to

Game of the Season: For me, the 5-3 game against Chelsea. It had plenty of errors, but I remember being so pumped up when RvP completed his hat-trick. The answer to this probably would have been the Spurs game, but I fecking slept in that day
Best Moment of the Season: Henry's winner against Leeds
Worst Moment of the Season: I 8-2 even think about it
"Cult Hero": Szczesny. Frimpong is a close runner up though considering even when he wasn't playing for us, he was still as relevant as anyone on the pitch . I would also say Mertesacker, but I think his cult consists of only me, Sushi, and sri so...

Best Moment of the Season: Seeing Henry back and scoring made me cry.

Worst Moment of the Season: I know I should say the united loss but the 4-0 Milan was so bad.

"Cult Hero": Van Persie.

Celebration of the Season: RVP hat trick vs Chelsea made me go crazy.

I just dont get how you guys dont think he is a top 5 player at Arsenal.
He saved our asses how many games? the save vs Liverpool was out of this world.
To me he is our second best player.

Underperformers of the season: There are many underperformers but I'm goint to mention only the ones I was a bit surprised: Vermaelen and Ramsey.

Goal of the Season: Santos vs Chelsea (yeah I know, but it was such an important goal, completely turned our season).

its a job well done guys with what u guys had on disposal and loosing integral players like cesc, nasri clichy at the same time.

best arsenal player: van persie, best midfielder; rosicsky, best defender: vermaelen

looking forward to seeing wilshere, and hopefully m villa together.

I can't believe I'm the only one to name Park the underperformer of the season so far. He didn't play, but at least Ramsey had one or two good games as opposed to no games at all, which tells me Park must have looked behind everyone else in training. If you get purchased and then never prove good enough to play, that's a big letdown.

One award we could start giving out by the way would be best signing of the season. I would give it to Arteta, and I think most would, but AOC is a close runner up and frankly we would have been fecked with no defenders for a long time if we never signed Mertesacker.

Szczesny did save our asses many times, but he also had many slip ups in key games like the mistake vs Spuds and the mistake at the San Siro which drove us into a bigger hole. Huge fan of Szcz though and I'm sure this time next year he'll be a top 3 player for us.

@Eman: Park did underperform but he really wasn't given many opportunities to show what he could do. He might have been slow in training and all that, but that we can just speculate on. When he played (which he barely did, 5 appearances) he was average, but Ramsey was average in more than 75% of his 30 appearances. He was given more opportunities to pick up his game, but he failed to do so.

Players of the Season (your top five):

RVP - He has been outstanding this season scoring 30 PL goals.

Koscielny - He has been rock at the back and did his best whenever he played. If it wasnt for RVP's great scoring record then he would been ahead of him.

Arteta - He brings something new, something that helped arsenal back to its winning ways. Arsenal havnt wont many matches without him.

Rosicky - I doubted him when season started, thought he would never play like before. But he has surprised everyone and proved many wrong including me. He got to his old form when we needed him most.

Song - He was on great form when the season began but he however kinda lost his best form in recent games.

Underpeformer of the Season

Aaron Ramsey - The guy had bright start to the season but he for some reason lost his form and confidence and never got his form back. Many may suggest that he has no future at arsenal but i still think he will do great next season.

Most Improved Players

Laurent Koscielny and Rosicky

Has to be between Spurs, Chelsea and Milan.

Arsenal winning over Spurs & Arsenal finishing above Spurs.

Without a doubt losing at 8-2 at old trafford. A moment to forget.

Rosicky - He has been in great form and has done great for Arsenal this season.
