Castrol Ranking

I know many don't take this site too seriously, but they pretty much rate our players highly.

Neuer rating is ridicolous so I wouldn't bother with it.

According to them Van Buyten is the 4th best CB in the world, Badstuber is 10th, Boateng is 11th and Dante is 16th

Lahm is the 5th best Fulback and Rafinha is 9th

Robben and Ribery are Rated as the best midfielders, respectively.

Muller is 11th and Kroos is 19th (Kroos should be 1st), Scwehini 27th.

Luis Gustavo and Tymo rating are under-rated

Mario Gomez is rated as the 2nd best striker in the world,only behind Messi and above C.Ronaldo, Benzema and Van Persie

Gomez to become the best player in the world in 6 days (I think that's when the next castrol upate is)

Thing is the castrol ratings are in love with the percentage of shots leading to a goal - (Last time I ckecked in Gomez' case that was in the high 30's - every 3rd attempt is a goal) and shooting on target vs. shooting off-target.

But what are their measures for Goalkeepers, it seems they are quite ridicolous.

Looking at some of those ratings it just seems like a bunch of nonsense. Schweinsteiger the 27th best midfield, not even close.

Bayern players are high up because they are very efficient, apart from the great performances we've had lately.

Castrol is good at judging some things, bad at others. They're purely statistics-based, so you can be man of the match and get shit Castrol ratings.

Of course for strikers, a high castrol rating actually means you score a lot. But if you're a support striker, especially one who more often "assists the assist", you won't show up there a lot.

It's pretty much the same as FIFA world rankings that always hugely overrate teams that get easy qualifying groups.
