i think it comes down to the fans who go to football matches, i reckon tickets are not expensive, so narrow minded people go there, but it's the same thing all over eastern europe and even western and central. remember in spain they monkey booed Eto'o or the fascist signs in italy....

First time I hear of russians being called natives, I didnt know we were from south or north america. But yeah there is def a racism problem in russia (between the ethnicities there) but more than that people would do whatever to discourage opposition players, I would say this belongs to the latter more than the former. Russians dont really have problems with brazilians or black people specifically, there isnt much contact with them to begin with.

Yeah, it has certain connotations that dont apply to russians though. Locals would be a better word.

There isnt an indigenous vs new comer divide like in the americas, or like in south africa for example.

The term "native" can have many different social and political connotations in different contexts. In some cases it is a neutral, descriptive term, for example, when stating that one is a native of a particular city or that a certain language is one's native language.
The idea is to interpret it in the right way! You understood what he meant by calling you guys natives. So, no big deal.

Simple ignorance by you. Its like saying all Italians/Germans/Spanish/ETC are racist. People there are not like these fans. Russia doesnt have a big number of black people in it to start, though still quite multicultural, because it contains over 100 nations in it.
By the way, Russia didnt have imported slaves from other continents, and it has highest Muslim population in Europe, which is treated fairly and undiscriminated *looks at Switzerland, France, Britannia*
