Re: Luis Gustavo
You have to be quite a force to leave the best Ukrainian player of all time out of job.

Re: Luis Gustavo
Well I'd rather argue that you have to show something, if you're deemed a fitting replacement for Mark van Bommel and suitable alternative to Vidal by the Bayern scouts - they are among the better scouting teams out there, imho.

Re: Luis Gustavo
Young Tymo was much better than Gustavo, Tymo is heavily under-rated going forward as well as defending. Age is catching up with him plus Van Gaal kept him on The Bench for far too long. If you watch Tymo Play against Ukraine he's much better.
BTW, why is Gustavo Not a Starter in Brazio National Team, I Cant think if any Brazilian striker that Is better

Re: Luis Gustavo
Wonderful DM but he has one glaring weakness tho.......
He defends the middle of the pitch very well, but its quite easy to get down the sides of him i.e. the positions an inside forward would take up.......
You can exploit him by ignoring the middle of the pitch and place players in pockets of space between the CB's and the fullback.
Still a very good player tho.

Re: Luis Gustavo
Gustavo is perfect for the role that Bayern needs him to play. He's for sure not a centreback however as we learned yesterday. He covers very well defensively and allows Piggy/Kroos to roam forward and create goalscoring opportunities.
A great buy from Hoffenheim and should be on the Brazil national team.

I am sorry, you have no ideal what you are talking about, Gustavo is extremely good at protecting the hole.
If you are judging him based on the Madrid's match, he was asked to mark out Ronaldo and Alonso, primarily and to also slightly mark Oezil, Schweini was responsible for Oezil.
Moreover Gustavo is more of a Zonal marker but he's very good with man marking.
