If you have watched the game, messi can do almost anything Ronnie can do...with a change in style, of course. Also- what ronnie could do in 5 seconds, messi can do in 2 seconds. Messi is way faster when it comes to owning his opponents. He can score when he wants to.

I wouldn't even categorise Messi as skillfull. Even little Neymar is more skillfull than him.

But it's effectiveness that matters, not skill.

Messi is only the better goal scorer and dribbling at pace. Ronaldinho was better at practically every category.

I once remember some Messi fanboy saying that because he doesn't use skills that that somehow makes him better just because of this.

The greatest of them all Cruyff said that technique is not about juggling the ball or doing some stupid skills.Jugglers can be in the circus.Technique is about passing the ball at the right pace and at the right time and at the right angle.

The argument from preference of style is the best defence for Ronaldinho, IMO, yet still falls short for being too subjective. Even then, some of Messi's plays are not boring but actually quite marvellous...

i like Ronaldinho more for his style and techniche. But Messi is better by a margin.

About who is more technical, I think ronaldinho was much better from the coordination point of view whereas messi is better at desition making and speed of mind. Both are a part of technich, but obviously Ronadinho's is nicer to look.
