Re: AS Roma - Fiorentina
Enrique seeks Fiorentina revenge
By Football Italia staff
Luis Enrique tells Roma to follow Francesco Totti’s example when facing Fiorentina and hails “great signing” Marquinho.
The Giallorossi have closed to within four points of rivals Lazio in third place and hope to progress further when welcoming the Viola on Sunday evening.
“Fiorentina are going through a difficult moment, but in their last away game they beat then-leaders Milan, so we have to be very wary,” said Enrique in his press conference.
“Of course Fiorentina worry me, because they were not prepared to fight against relegation with talents of great quality like Stevan Jovetic, Riccardo Montolivo and Juan Manuel Vargas. This side needs points to secure safety and that is what worries me the most.”
When these sides met back in December, Fiorentina were 3-0 winners and Roma had Juan, Fernando Gago and Bojan Krkic sent off.
“That night can act as motivation. We played our game despite the red cards. I understand the fans can be angry after a few defeats and humiliations. We need the support of our fans and they are giving it to us 99.9 per cent. It’s normal to have a little anger at times, but I thank them for their support.
“We have done good things, otherwise we wouldn’t be here fighting for the Champions League. We were inconsistent, but we know that, and work every week to improve,” continued the Coach.
“Totti is a player who doesn’t talk much, but sets the example on the field, which is better. What he shows to the rest of his teammates is very important. It was a real strain to play against Udinese despite his physical condition and he put in a wonderful performance.
“Marquinho is doing much better than we expected. He can get past his man, attack the space and move the play vertically. You haven’t seen how hard his shot is yet! He works with humility, asks where he has gone wrong and what he can do to improve. We’re all very happy, Marquinho is a great signing

According to satellite broadcaster Sky , the FIGC has decided to block the championships of Serie A, B and Pro League, this week, following the death from cardiac arrest Piermario Morosini of Livorno , after a sudden illness had occurred during the race against Pescara

What happened to Morosini is unbelievably shocking to me, maybe greater safety precautions will now be put in place for the players. Terrible, and the FIGC did the right thing in suspending these games. RIP Morosini.

Lets kick their ass . I heard that they have a lot of injured players. And yes, finally, Borini will be back.

Agreed, but with Marquinho in for Angel. I know he hasn't played there yet, but who's confidence is higher right now?

Re: AS Roma - Fiorentina
I for one am tired of these heavy defeats... Down 4-0 to Lecce, Losing to Juve a combined 8-1 in matches against them (including Copa) , losing 3-0 to Fiorentina, the bombing Atalanta laid down on us 4-1. Oh, and Cagliari took all 6 points from us again, all that mixed in with losses to Siena, both games against Lazio etc.
I trust Enrique (why? it seems crazy), and I think he should be given one more year, but this was a terrible season, and our position in the table just shows how mediocre our league has been this year.

Re: AS Roma - Fiorentina
If Totti sits out and Pjanic takes up that trequartista role, then I definitely want De Rossi in midfield. I don't think having a midfield of Gago, Marquinho and Simplicio is a great idea considering how fragile we are going to be mentally after our defeat against Juve.
