People would be playing it if their PC could actually handle the game lol

Re: Official Crysis 3 thread
Kinda behind the times there RG.
Graphical quality has actually been getting worse/easier to handle.
The best game engine technically is still Cryengine 2 - The Crysis and Crysis: Warhead engine. And that's almost 5 years old now. Cryengine 3 was more about efficiency and easy development across the 3 high fidelity platforms.
The Frostbite 2 engine is the only engine that comes close to the fidelity of Cryengine 2.

Re: Official Crysis 3 thread
Far Cry 3 is also coming .
I hope they develop Crysis 3 as the original Crysis, and not Crysis 2 which while great fun was basically a corridor shooter. I want huge environments and the ability to snipe heads from 2 Km.
Stupid consoles bottlenecking graphics

Re: Official Crysis 3 thread
I actually got into a Crysis 2 multiplayer game!
Fuark I forgot how incredibly different it is compared to other shooters. In my first game I struggled to get a 3 kill streak going. Got the hang of it after a while, got a noice 9 kill streak going.
But yeah, if Crysis 3 multiplayer is going to be anything like Crysis 2, then I can't see the game lasting long. The multiplayer is just so insanely different to other shooters and I can see other people easily falling back into the old habits of games like CoD and Battlefield.

Re: Official Crysis 3 thread
Yeah if they want to be succesful they have to dumb up the multiplayer to appease players who play only for action and have monkey brains , mostly .

Re: Official Crysis 3 thread
Crysis reminds me of one thing that I think most, if not all other shooters lack, compared to the CoD-series. A sensitivity option and mobility that makes me feel like I'm in complete control of my character's movement. Really, that's the first thing I notice when I play other FPS games than call of duty. I don't know if it's just the slow mobility, or if it's the lack of being able to customise your sensitivity to the same extent in most other FPS games, but call of duty really hit the nail with their player maneuverability and sensitivity settings. When I play Crysis 2, I feel like controlling a tank or something. I can't turn around as quickly as I want to, and the aim reacts much slower than I'm used to. Some may argue that they're just making it seem more realistic, or whatever, but I don't think that's the case here. I want to be able to at least move around and turn my aim cursor from A to B as fast as I would've been able to aim/turn around in real life.
I do realize that most players aren't used to playing on a high sensitivity setting, and don't consider this a flaw at all, but I think other FPS brands should offer the opportunity to increase camera reaction time and/or aim sensitivity to a higher level. Most games have that option already, but even at maxed-out sensitivity/camera setting, it still feels like my movement is being restricted.

Re: Official Crysis 3 thread
I completely understand that 'wearing a tank' feeling when playing Crysis 2.

Re: Official Crysis 3 thread
Cant wait to get my hands on Crysis 3 . But yea I hope they improve the multiplayer tho, nothing wrong with it overall only a bit buggy. Basicly a copy of COD only nanosuits in it.

Re: Official Crysis 3 thread
Crysis 2 is a great game, but most people haven't played the PC orientated Crytek releases such as Far Cry 1 and Crysis + Warhead to realize how much of a huge step down Crysis 2 was. Crytek promised us a PC orientated game and we got a console focused CoD clone.
Think about it, the only criticism of Crysis was it's requirements. The huge distances involved between action centres was the only gameplay related criticism which was rectified in Warhead.
There's a massive difference between Crysis and Warhead using CryEngine 2 for the PC and the CryEngine 3 rerelease which really shows the console bottleneck.
Damn the CoD 4 formula of making shooters easy by removing recoil and having lvl based weapon unlocks as well as filling your screens with achievements and awards every 10 seconds. It throws the #1 fps rule of "Don't hold down the trigger" right out of the window. At least Crysis 1 had a semi-legit reason by allowing you to reduce recoil by going into strength mode.
I can't really complain though. I'd rather play a game that has more people playing it because it's easy than a game that nobody plays because of its learning curve and difficulty.
I just hope CS:GO doesn't take the same route because then it just wouldn't be CS anymore.
