Great player... but why do Madrid, of all clubs, need a RB?

because arbeloa, though he has been really good towards the end of the season has been incredibly unreliable for 80% of the season.
hes getting older, slowing down (even more if you thought it wasnt possible), losing concentration at times etc.
lass at RB is a no go, coentrao at rb hypothesis was a bust, albiol is albiol. we need a dependable athletic rb. piszcek seems like he fits

laSexta now claiming that the talks with Lucasz Piszczek are at an advanced stage and is expected to join for €10 million.
Here I was thinking it was just rumours and gossip.....

I've seen him in 3 games all year, I believe at 1 point I asked Nick about him....he was great in all 3.
Scored an amazing goal against Shalke.
Make no mistake though,if we sign him then our midfield needs to get it's act together and push forwad because our line needs to be as high as humanly possible with 2 ultra attacking fullbacks.
Also....Di Maria really needs someone to overlap.
Gets trapped too often because of his lack of a right foot.

Łukasz Piszczek - from average striker to crap right winger then to a good right back.
I don't think he will sign for RM, but if he does then he will be first Polish that can regularly play in RM side, as I don't believe Arbeloa is much better than him, so Piszczek will get a lot of games. Dudek was benchwarmer, Piszczek can be value member of a squad.
He may end up as Altintop and Sahin as well though

As long as he doesn't miss the pre-season and he plays well, it should be fine.
But very weird

Apzi will block Carjaval if he ever is good enough (he isn't right now, relies alot on being physically better than basically anyone in his division)
This guy won't.

You're telling me that this guy, even if he comes, is NOT the long term solution to our RB problem?
So why get him?

Re: Lukasz Piszczek - Borussia Dortmund #26
Shows how under appreciated non-bayern bundesliga players are
The way you guys are talking is like he is on the level of Danny Simpson
He's a wonderfully complete RB who can do it all and is in the same breath of the likes of Debuchy and Azpilicueta but because he plays in the Bundesliga he's ridiculously underrated
He would be a great signing IMO and for 10m a f*ckin steal if BVB accept that they are nuts.

I don't know if he isn't a long term solution.
I think at the very least he has 3-4years...at which point Carjaval will be 23-24 which is a good age.
But we can't buy Apzi and expect to have Carjaval later on.

Dortmund got him for free, so from their logic it's good value.
It's only normal not to rate players you have never heard about.

Re: Lukasz Piszczek - Borussia Dortmund #26
It seems extremely sketchy Dortmund being tight ass, cockblocking and beating Bayern to signings... then to suddenly sell one of their key players, in a position where quality is seriously lacking worldwide.
I would understand if it were Kagawa or something who'd be free, but they have no reason at all to sell Piszczek.

Dortmund's manager Michael Zorc says Lukasz Piszczek won't leave.

I dont. I would accept either Azpi or Carvajal as our long term right back. In fact, both of them would be fantastic solutions (although of course my heart is with Carvajal).
However, I have never even seen Azpi linked with us in the media. We are basing all this on Nick's questionably reliable 'sources'

Re: Lukasz Piszczek - Borussia Dortmund #26
I dont like him at all. From what i have watched he is good on the ball but just ok defensively . He flopped alongside entire BVB back four in the CL . If we are going for a RB i would rather get Azpilicueta who i think is solid defensively . Being Spanish will help too.

Maybe 'hype' would be a better word.

Re: Lukasz Piszczek - Borussia Dortmund #26
Considering how the BL followers rate him, I guess he is good. Then again, Serie A followers rated Zapata and he was absolutely awful (both as a CB and FB).
Anyway, I generally don't take on anyone who says (insert player) is not for sale so a "wait and see" approach is being adopted.

He maybe some exception to the rule (although I feel if one meets Bayern's asking price, he'll consider it)...

Re: Lukasz Piszczek - Borussia Dortmund #26
That only works if Bayern don't consider a player unsellable. And they usually do concerning their core players. As things look atm, Hans-Joachim Watze of Dortmund wants to follow Uli Hoeneß' example, at least as long a player is contracted long enough and doesn't have an exit clause.Doc wrote:He maybe some exception to the rule (although I feel if one meets Bayern's asking price, he'll consider it)...
