Best team in the world if all pitches were terrible
I recently had a discussion with someone about how bad the local fields in my town are and we discussed what would happen if the best teams in the world were to all compete on fields as bad as ours for an entire season. Obviously this is an unrealistic scenario, but do you guys think that the best teams would still be the best teams? And if not, which teams would be made to look much better as a result?

Depends just how bad it is, but if its like I imagine, then I think Man Utd.
The local pitches I played on in England were bad, however its not impossible to pass...its just very hard and it wont always go where you aimed it and the ball doesnt bounce as you expect it.
So, one might think hoofball would be the most effective but not so, you still can pass the ball to a degree.
However, you will find the best patches of grass are wide on the flanks and who excels at sort of play?

Most improved team would definitely be Stoke.

Bayern? And mind you, Gomez has no need to dribble much either to score. The Franchise wrote:However, you will find the best patches of grass are wide on the flanks and who excels at sort of play?

Has Barca ever played on such a pitch?
That can easily happen in Germany around the winter break (hence we have that winter break in the first place).

Ribery and Robben like to dribble, coming in different directions, coming inside, linking, playing 1-2's.
Man Utd are more "basic" to me.

Re: Best team in the world if all pitches were terrible
i think Real Madrid don't rely on any special surfaces, we have played on a wide range of pitches from Espanyol's first game on the new pitch, our own potatoe pitch to the most recent Osasuna's unmowed pitch..
@ Dani, what you described Bayern to do, Man U do exactly the same, also i dont think Valencia would be as threatening if the pitch was wobbly
The old Chelsea however.......only requires 3 passes for it to reach the opposite goal lmfao
