Ramires missed a call up and Scolari is pissed at him ever since.

Maxwell call up is random as hell. Filipe Luis is so much better than him...

I hope these old grudges are buried. Rafael after his Olympic horror was one of the best fullbacks of Premier League, he should not be ostracised because of that one mistake. And Ramires I hope Scolari forgives him, he offers something unique to the midfield.

This is basically the core squad of the World Cup tbh. In the future we might see Marquinhos and Fernandinho if they live up to their price tags. Damiao if he has a break out season in Europe, maybe Pato if he has a good season and Coutinho if he continues his form cannot be ignored. Lucas Leiva if he goes back to his pre-injury from might make it too, and as I said maybe Ramires and Rafael.

Good post. I agree with most of it.

I also read somewhere that the problem with Ramires was a miscommunication between Chelsea and the CBF so hopefully that gets cleared up.

I think Marin made it clear that Ramires has no spot on E Seleccao?

Scolari is just experimenting with wingback depth I assume. Still need to look for players who will replace Marcelo and Dani Alves for when they get injured.. which will inevitably happen.

Wow, because of that one mistake? That's exceedingly harsh.

Rafael (RB) and Filipe Luis (LB) are good enough. Both are among the best fullbacks of their respective leagues.

Seriously Ederson and Firmino would have been much better options.

Also Maicon over Rafael and Jonathan wtf?

He wasn't called up when he was lighting up the PL and helping beast teams 6-0.... why would he be called up when he wasn't creating anything before injury?

Get over it... Brazil are stacked and unless he showed ridiculous form he never had a hope.

Also M99 Maicon has been quite good this season and Rafael has been average at very very best.... i'll give you Jonathan though.

Rafael just came back from injury and age wise is a much better option than Maicon who has been decent, but meh I guess he is ostracised for life because of that one mistake he made at the Olympics.

Willian will take Hulk's spot in no time. Far better passer, defender & has chemistry with Oscar, Luiz & Ramires.

The rest of the spots on that team are pretty straightforward though. For the first time in decades Brazil are severely lacking an elite forward so Fred is pretty much a given.

Not enough playmakers in that squad too. One of Kaka, Diego, Coutinho or even Ronaldinho deserve a shot.

Why does playmakers matter? they don't play like Spain.... counter attack teams how press high don't need playmakers.

Plus big LOL @ Kaka and playmaker lol.... Ronaldinho is on the beach with Adriano selling AKs and Coke lol.

Kaka whether wide or central has been Milan's finest source of creativity within the final 3rd. Every game of his in present Milan, he has displayed excellent creativity coming from deep, in tight spaces, within the box, with both feet whether chips, tricks, flicks of passes. For Brazil, he played a more creative role compared to Milan, which is why his call up is plausible.

OT: As for Robinho, controversial as it is he always turns it up for Brazil as I'm sure he will perform.

I'm happy Robinho is back ... if confident he'll do well , at least as a super sub.

Kaka is doing well right now and could add experience to the team but let's see if he'll be fit long enough before anyting ..

Rafael should never play for the Seleção again after that Olympic final. Terrible team player.
