Btw, I've been looking for these stats for a while, does anyone know the exact breakdown per player for shirt sales?

I know that Ronaldo's jersey sold an absurd 20 million or something (could be pretty off), and I figure Kaka, Ozil and Benzema are quite popular (and for some reason Casillas on regular shirts kits.. I've seen those a lot), maybe Alonso? I've seen that one too, Higuain.... Albiol, Arbeloa, Carvalho etc. probably not so much.

It's more a question of how much of a marketing push is put behind the player. Starting for club and NT is the biggest marketing you can get obviously... then you have commercials, etc.

The die hards will buy the shirt multiple times. But your average fan is going to buy the shirt of the most popular players.

In the NBA, Lebron James overtook Kobe Bryant in merchandising not because he is more popular (the opposite actually). It's because he changed teams. Even Kobe Bryant changed numbers mid career and his numbers just jumped.

Bottom line: Kaka needs to remain relevant... and he's quickly losing that.

The Ibra bench statement makes 0 sense. If he cost you a lot for every minute he was on bench, is that not a good thing? Wouldn't you want him on the field and not on the bench?

No what dosen't make sense is that your paid more when your on the bench...
