Probably the right decision, but England don't really have a player to replace his role in the team.

They are better off moving to a 4-2-3-1 with the players they have available anyway. They have a number of high-engine midfielders that are good defensively available to them, and a high collection of attacking midfielders that can play centrally or out wide while they have relatively few genuine strikers.

Gerrard is a legend.

And yet Fat Frank is still hoping for more caps. He's like 2-3 years older than Stevie as well Laughing

Sad to see him hang 'em but I'm actually very happy for selfish reasons.

Not had a career anywhere near Liverpool's but still will remember some good times with him.

Most of his good time was in his early days. Safe to say he was pretty poor since 2004 apart from here n there. Best match is obviously the Germany 5-1 win.

Basically all of the old guard is gone now(thankfully). At least we can move on.

This is unbelievable.

Why wasn't Roy sacked after the WC? What more is there to see? Euro12, WC14. Same old shit from him

He isn't going to take us anywhere.

When England produces talents like Sterling, Oxlade, Barkley, Wilshere, Chambers and Sturridge. HE is there to manage us by putting welbeck upfront and Danny rose at LB
