Re: AC Milan vs FC Barcelona; away leg official thread
I am not convinced on the inclusion of Abate since he hasn't played in a while. Secondly, I believe that who ever plays well deserves to continue. Bonera deserves it; he worked hard for it. I would also remove Nocerino and in his place Mark Van Bommel. Robinho is removed from the line up and in his place I would play Urby. Here Urby can drop deep and to the flanks.
-----------Abbiati
Bonera--Nesta--Mexes--Antonini
-----MVB---Ambrosini---Seedorf
---------Boateng----Urby

Re: AC Milan vs FC Barcelona; away leg official thread
AC Milan have received a boost ahead of their Champions League quarter-final second-leg clash with Barcelona, as Alexandre Pato has been passed fit to play.
The Brazil international has been sidelined with muscular problems of late, and has been undergoing treatment in the United States in a bid to regain fitness.
With the Italian giants going to Camp Nou after a 0-0 draw in the first leg, the South American will be available for selection.
"Pato is very well. He is in good condition and I think we have found the answers we needed," professor Jean Pierre Meersseman confirmed to Sky Sport Italia.
"He is ready to play against Barcelona on Tuesday and will surely be available to Allegri."
Pato's injury struggles this season have seen him reduced to just 11 Serie A games, starting on seven occasions.
Well, this is great news! No more Robinho!

I think Ambrosini is NOT available:
yellow against Bate, Yellow against Piezen, Yellow against Barcelona.
edit: never mind, he had his third yellow against Arsenal first and missed the second.

Re: AC Milan vs FC Barcelona; away leg official thread
Allegri needs to get through to the players heads that we DO NOT need to win this game, they DO, the pressure is on THEM not on US.
There is absolutely no need what so ever to play an attacking minded formation, they are going to have a picknick in our half and therefore Boa and Noc should always be alert to hit them on the counter.
Best case scenario: Pato is fit to play from the start and we get an early goal.
Worst case scenario: Van bommel/ Ambrosini and Mexes gets yellow in the first half.

No Van Bommel.
Captain Fantastic to give it his all again then. Having played the Catania game I hope he's not fatigued, it could be a huge problem if the game goes to extra time, though I think the chances of no goals being scored in 180 minutes are minimal to say the least. We might see Seedorf at the base at some point.

MILAN – Dutchman Björn Kuipers will referee Milan’s match against Barcelona in the Nou Camp on Tuesday evening. He’ll be assisted by Sander van Roekel and Erwin Zainstra. They in turn will be assisted by Pol van Boekel and Richard Liesveld. Bas Nijhuis will be the fourth man. All match officials are Dutch.
Every single match official is Dutch, I'm really not sure how to feel about this. Let's just hope for a match which isn't decided by the referee.

Van Bommel's from PSV though, we must be careful.
Let's impersonate Cruyff and drunk dial them at 3am in the morning for the next few days.

I'm wondering who is going to be cut when the squad becomes 18, I was rather hoping SES would remain an option from the bench. What are everybody's thoughts on Pato being used in this match? Obviously we expect him to be able to rise to the occasion in important matches, however his completely anonymous showing against Juventus has really conditioned my point of view at this point in time. I haven't lost faith in him, however this is an absolute huge moment in our season and the Pharoah is at least prepared to run his heart out in defence for us and come deep to get involved.

Re: AC Milan vs FC Barcelona; away leg official thread
what if the refs are PSV fans! seedorf is universally liked so that's ok though. they might have some problems with urby though
lol, just give cruyff the phone and he will say something offensive about referees by himself
alternatively, we could get every dutch player who's ever played for us to sign a some Milan tops and send them to the refs
to not include Pato as a super sub (if he's ready and not going to be an unnecessary risk) would be a missed opportunity i think. even if he plays crap, the barca players fear and respect him enough so he can create space for ibra & co. i feel a bit sorry for SES, but he was fairly anonymous v Barca at the San Siro

Ahhh, so we have to drop 5 players, screw me!
Imagine how difficult it is for the coach to tell the 5 players they wont be going to Camp nou, let alone how the players feel.
On a side note, i would rather drop Lopez than the pharoh

MVB not being in the squad is a huge blow and hopefully we can cope without him. I don't want to see Robinho anywhere near the starting line up as he has been playing like shit; I am also sick and tired of his pathetic misses, and at this point all he deserves is the bench. While SES is still too young I would still trust him over Robinho at this point.
Pato should come in the second half when Barcelona's players are more tired.

Pato starts,i dont want SES nor Robinho.
biscuits and their entire backline will have a tight butthole when he touches the ball,as Forza said, they respect him for his goal and will be scared to get roasted again. This means that we will have Ibra and Boateng with free space, and Pato,Boateng Ibra are great finishers, therefore we can score at least 1 or 2 goals if they perform
Best case scenario:We score an early goal(looking at you Alex)

Well, ideally, I would prefer if Pato would start instead of SES, but how match fit is he? He hasn't played in a while, and the last time he played he played like crap.

Re: AC Milan vs FC Barcelona; away leg official thread
Allegri made a mistake in playing 35-year-old Ambrosini on Saturday, same about all the other exhausted heroes of San Siro battle.
He could instead field a relatively younger XI with more motivation so as to keep everybody fitter, the subs could get some game-time and the starters some rest, am I missin' something?
those two SOBs Muntari and Mesbah couldn't have got suspended at a better time, we truly needed some crap players for Catania game and they were exactly that, but well, you know...
Anyway, what's done can't be undone.
Abbiati - Nesta, Mexes, Antonini, Abate - Ambrosini, Seedorf, Nocerino - Boateng, Pato, Ibrahimovic
Returnees from long-term absence tend to perform wonderfully upon their return, so expect Pato to really turn it on in Camp Nou.
I also expect Nesta and Seedorf to be fitter and sharper than last game, we need those features from them, don't we?
If we can miraculously score one goal in the early going, then as Dante13 put it a while ago, we shouldn't simply park the bus, rather we must park the whole goddamn ship against those beasts.
Scoring early is a dream come true, even if it means 94 minutes of pure defending. This way, conceding one on the way is acceptable too.
Another way is to well and truly hold them back and rely on luck to get them in penalty shoot-out, but I don't know, it's 99.99% impossible to do that, but hell, we've already made history.
God? Are you watching us?
Help out our old-fart asses, we promise to get younger next year!!!

The last time he played was a very long time ago! That performance will not have any effect on him if he plays on Tuesday! The only thing tthat matters is his fitness, and according to the doctor who accompanied him to the US, he is fit enough to play! So, I am all for starting Pato! SES is too inexperienced IMO to be starting in the Camp Nou! Maxi Lopez also has not featured much in the CL. And Robinho, dont get me started! Pato is the best option we have!

The defensive game from your side will continue.
I expect Pep to field a rational 11.
Barca to get a narrow victory
Why do you insist about Guardiola messing up last night? really
The only strange move i saw from him was Tello so early on in the 2nd half. Despite that , Iniesta was really tired and didn't have the game of his life either.
You can doubt him about Puyol playing LB maybe , but he had no other choice . Unless i forget someone , no he had no other choice.
The only thing i can think of is Fabregas didn't play. I don't know if he's injured though.
here's the really late reply.
Pep got many things wrong.
Puyol on the left was a forced decision and I'm not gonna rant about it.
However with Keita in we had Iniesta on the flanks where he has been less than effective for us the whole year. At the same time, Keita was nearly invisible, while Cesc or Thiago would have given an extra dimension to our game. Anyway as I said Milan played a good game and I am not trying to find excuses as Ganso said. However when I see something wrong I have to speak my mind. See you on Tuesday guys
